A new clip has been released for Lars Von Trier‘s two-part drama Nymphomaniac. Charlotte Gainsbourg stars as Joe, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who recounts her life story to Seligman (Stellan Skarsgard), an old, charming bachelor who finds Joe beaten up in an alley. The film is broken up into eight chapters and we’ve already seen clips from chapters one and two. Today’s clip is from chapter three, “Mrs. H”. While the clip is safe-for-work in terms of having no nudity, it starts off with Uma Thurman saying the line, “Would it be alright if I showed the children the whoring bed?”, so maybe keep the speakers down. As for the content, it’s the strange and fascinating material we’ve come to expect from Von Trier.
Hit the jump to check out the clip. The film also stars Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Jean-Marc Barr, and Udo Kier. Nymphomaniac opens in Denmark on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas, Denmark.
The clip is via the official website, and comes with the accompanying text:
Keeping track of a large network of lovers isn’t always easy, and Joe is soon confronted with the unpleasant consequences of being a nymphomaniac.
After all, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.
