Olivia Wilde has joined the cast of screenwriter Alex Kurtzman’s directorial debut, Welcome to People. The film is a “family drama about a businessman (Chris Pine) who returns home after his estranged father’s death and discovers that he has an alcoholic sister (Elizabeth Banks) with a 12-year-old son.” According to Risky Business, Wilde will play Hannah, the girlfriend of Pine’s character.
Wilde, who was most recently seen as one of the few good aspects of TRON: Legacy, will next appear in theaters in Cowboys & Aliens (Kurtzman co-wrote the script for the film). She’s also co-starring in the body-switching comedy The Change-Up with Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds, the satire Butter with Jennifer Garner, the crime-thriller Kin with Eric Bana, and the Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) sci-fi flick Now with Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake. Wilde is also set to return to the Fox drama House sometime before the season is over.
