Olly Moss is the acclaimed artist behind such incredible movie prints asMondo posters for The Lord of the Rings, for Star Wars, and for Studio Ghibli. He’s also no stranger to Harry Potter, having worked with Pottermore in the past to create for J.K. Rowling’s series. They have partnered again on artwork for the Harry Potter German audio books, but Moss is also selling the spectacular art as prints on his website.
There are seven prints in total, one for each of the Harry Potter books, but they all glimpse the same setting in different moments in time.
The print for Philosopher’s Stone sees 11-year-old Harry holding Hagrid’s hand as he walks towards Hogwarts castle, looming in the upper right corner. Chamber of Secrets shows the same scene but with the pesky flying car zooming towards school, Prisoner of Azkaban features Harry’s stag patronus glowing on the grounds below, Goblet of Fire shows Hogwarts during winter as fans of the Triwizard Tournament cheer from below, Order of the Phoenix shows the centaur Firenze staring up at Harry & co. riding the thestrals, Half-Blood Prince shows the Dark Mark illuminated by the green glow of Snape’s Killing Curse, and Deathly Hallows shows the shadows of Harry, Ron, and Hermione standing united amid the wreckage from the battle for Hogwarts.
Moss toldof the 1950s color palette:
I was just a big fan of 1950s design, and it just seemed like a natural fit. I really liked the idea of Harry getting on a train and going somewhere exciting every year. There is something very British about that. That period of design – and obviously Harry Potter – is steeped in that imagery and I wanted to bring those two things together.
The prints are available for purchase onfor $50 a piece or $275 for all seven. The sale only lasts until Monday, October 25th at 10 a.m. EST.
