We might need a new “Hey Girl” for the bruised-and-beaten Ryan Goslingwe’ve seen in images from Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Only God Forgives. Gosling stars as a man who’s been living in exile in Bangkok for the past ten years after killing a cop. He manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation and finds himself in hot water after his brother is killed for murdering a prostitute. The boys’ mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) arrives in Bangkok to collect her son’s body and instructs Gosling to take revenge and “raise hell.” Apparently, Mama’s no too concerned about her boy’s good looks. In addition to showing off this image, The Film Stage reports that the M83 song “Sister” was played as part of a promo trailer, and that the movie is on track for a 2013 release.
Hit the jump to check out the poster and give “Sister” a listen. It’s a very soothing song for a movie where a guy’s face gets pummeled into oblivion.
Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ held in first place for the three-day weekend with an estimated $32.1 million. ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ came in second with $30.3 million. ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was down 47% in third while the ‘Poltergeist’ reboot opened as expected, in fourth place.
