Gwyneth Paltrow, Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and More to Perform Songs at Academy Awards

Gwyneth Paltrow, Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Randy Newman, Florence Welch, Alan Menken, and A.R. Rahman will perform at the 83rd Academy Awards.

What are the Oscars without a little pageantry? As it's been done in years prior, the Best Song nominees will be performed by the folks who sang them in the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow will perform "Coming Home" from Country Strong; Randy Newman will perform "We Belong Together" from Toy Story 3; songwriter Alan Menken will provide piano accompaniment to Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi for "I See the Light" from Tangled; and songwriter A.R. Rahman will join Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine to perform "If I Rise" from 127 Hours.

ZACHARY LEVI, ALAN MENKEN, MANDY MOORE, RANDY NEWMAN, GWYNETH PALTROW, A.R. RAHMAN AND FLORENCE + THE MACHINE TO PERFORM AT 83RD ACADEMY AWARDS®

Eighty-third Academy Awards telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer today announced the artists who will perform the nominated songs on the Kodak Theatre stage on Oscar Night®:

* Gwyneth Paltrow will perform “Coming Home” from the film “Country Strong.”

* Original Song nominee A.R. Rahman and Florence Welch, of Florence + the Machine, will perform “If I Rise” from the film “127 Hours.” Rahman is nominated for writing the music (Dido and Rollo Armstrong are also nominated for the song’s lyric).

* Alan Menken, who is nominated for writing the music for “I See the Light” from the animated film “Tangled,” will accompany singers Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi on the piano (Glenn Slater is also nominated for the song’s lyric).

* Randy Newman will perform his nominated song “We Belong Together” from the animated film “Toy Story 3.”

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscars presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
