The Weinstein Company has released some new Paddington images from director Paul King’s (The Mighty Boosh) upcoming film based on the beloved bear.  The story finds the anthropomorphic bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) alone and lost at Paddington Station, in search of a home.  Soon after he meets a kind family and seems to have found happiness, at least until he catches the eye of a nefarious taxidermist (Nicole Kidman).  The previous trailer has promised a slapstick-heavy tone that should attract a number of young moviegoers, and even I wasn’t averse to the charm of the titular hat-wearing bear.  These new images give us a better look at the human characters and also show more of Paddington being adorable.

Take a look at the new Paddington movie images after the jump.  The film also stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, and Peter CapaldiPaddington opens in theaters on December 25th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Paddington:

From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
