New Trailer for ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT

The second full trailer for Ice Age: Continental Drift has been released.  The fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise finds the kooky characters attempting to survive the breakup of Pangea, when Earth’s supercontinent begins to rift.  Though I’m not the biggest fan of the series, there are more than a few laughs to be found in this latest trailer.  The MVP of the franchise has always been John Leguizamo’s Sid the Sloth, and he shines in this latest clip.  We also get a glimpse of the film’s antagonists, a gang of pirates led by a prehistoric orangutan voiced by Peter Dinklage.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki MinajIce Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

A new trailer for the fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, has gone online. In this adventure, Scrat accidentally triggers the breakup of Pangea and thus the splitting of the continents while pursuing that ever-elusive acorn (seriously, there are other acorns in the world, Scrat). This trailer highlights this entry’s newest inhabitants: the Gigantopithecus (an extinct genus of ape). I’m not the biggest fan of the series, but kids seem to love it and the movies make a great deal of money at the box office so I guess there’s an audience for the fourth entry.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj. Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

Teaser Trailer for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

The teaser trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has gone online.  The film re-imagines our 16th President as a statesman by day and a vampire slayer by night.  This trailer proves three things: 1) Johnny Cash‘s reading of Revelations 6:1 (from “The Man Comes Around”) can dignify just about anything; 2) Abraham Lincoln knew axe-fu; 3) Fox is selling this movie as totally serious.  Not a hint of a joke.  Also, the action goes by so fast, that you can’t really appreciate most of the moves or even tell what’s happening.  Ultimately, audiences will look at this teaser and think, “That’s not a real movie, right?”

The film stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Rufus SewellAbraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22nd.

Alan Tudyk Talks TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, SUBURGATORY, and Working With Joss Whedon

by     Posted 2 years, 300 days ago

Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, available on Magnolia On-Demand and in select theaters starting September 30th, is a hilariously gory comedy about two lovable redneck best friends on vacation at their run-down mountain house, who are mistaken for murderous hillbillies by a group of preppy college kids that end up dying, one by one. While Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) try to lend the students a hand, the misunderstanding grows and the body count gets uncontrollably higher and higher.

At the film’s press day, actor Alan Tudyk spoke with Collider for this exclusive interview about making sure he and first-time feature writer/director Eli Craig were on the same page with how to handle the film’s tone, how easy the friendship came between him and co-star Tyler Labine, and that hanging upside for the film was actually really painful. He also talked about how his Stephen Douglas in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is different from the actual historical figure and that the changes from the book were necessary to make the film more active, that he loves working with Joss Whedon (they did Firefly and Dollhouse together) because he’s daring and different and challenges him as an actor, why he was drawn to the new ABC comedy Suburgatory (premiering on September 28th), and what he enjoys about doing voice-over work, including the upcoming MTV series Good Vibes. Check out what he has to say after the jump:

We have several bits of casting news to bring your way tonight. First up, Scoot McNairy (upcoming Cogan’s Trade) has joined the cast of director/star Ben Affleck’s Argo. In addition to Affleck, McNairy will also appear alongside Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, and Alan Arkin in the Warner Bros. pic that is based upon a 2007 article from Wired magazine. Chris Terrio adapted the Joshuah Bearman piece entitled “How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran” which tells the rescue story of six U.S. diplomats in 1979. Variety scooped the news of McNairy’s casting, but doesn’t divulge any details regrading his character. The film is currently eyeing a 2012 release.

Next up, High School Musical‘s Corbin Bleu is taking his talents from an educational setting to a medical one.  The actor has signed on to star alongside Paz De La Huerta and 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden in Lionsgate’s horror flick Nurse 3D. According to Variety, Bleu will take on the role of Bowden’s boyfriend (poor guy), who gets caught up in (a.k.a. most likely murdered) the violent outbursts of De La Huerta’s character, Abby. In case you want to learn a little more about the film, this NSFW concept art should pretty much tell you all you need to know. Nurse 3D is also aiming for an unspecified 2012 release. Magnet Releasing announced today via press release that it has acquired domestic distribution rights to the horror/comedy Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Starring Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, and Katrina Bowden, the film features a continuously rising body count that derives from the misconception that Tucker and Dale (Tudyk and Labine) are backwoods murderous creeps ala Deliverance. The film debuted at Sundance all the way back in 2010 at which point Steve conducted video interviews with both Tudyk and Labine. You can click here and here to check out each of those sit-downs and click here to take in three clips from the film. First Look at ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

by     Posted 3 years, 77 days ago

abraham-lincoln-vampire-hunter-movie-image-slice-01

The first image from Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has gone online.  In case you couldn’t get the plot from the title, the movie is about America’s 16th President secret life as a vampire slayer.  Based off the book by Seth Grahame-Smith, the story re-imagines that Lincoln’s mother and grandfather were killed by a vampire and that the president’s resolve to end slavery was due in part to the “fact” that vampires were involved with the slave trade.  However, he also learns that there are good vampires and bad vampires and that he can’t simply just kill them all willy-nilly.

Hit the jump for the image and to learn how the production is devoted to historical accuracy in this incredibly silly story.  The film stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Refus Sewell.  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22, 2012.

Douglas, Jimmi Simpson as Lincoln’s right hand man, and Dominic Cooper as Lincoln’s vampire-slaying mentor, Henry.

Alan Tudyk to Play Stephen A. Douglas in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Alan Tudyk (Firefly) will play Stephen A. Douglas in Timur Bekmambetov’s 3D adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.  The book imagines our 16th President had a secret life fighting vampires and that was the real reason for the Civil War.  In the history books, Douglas was opposite Lincoln on the famous Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858 which helped to raise Lincoln’s national profile.  In the Vampire Hunter, Douglas is recast as an “ally of the Southern vampires,” because the only thing that’s worse than vampires, are pro-slavery vampires.

Tudyk joins a cast that includes Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Jimmi Simpson, and Robin McLeavy.  Hit the jump for a synopsis of the novel.  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is due out June 22, 2012.

The Title of TRANSFORMERS 3 Is “TRANSFORMERS: THE DARK OF THE MOON”

by     Posted 3 years, 292 days ago

Transformers 3 now has its official title and that title is: Transformers: The Dark of the Moon. TFW2005 first discovered the title through the listing of some upcoming movie tie-in novels, “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Secret of the Autobots“, “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Autobots Betrayed!“, and “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Invasion of the Decepticons” (all three novels are set to be released on May 17, 2011). We have now confirmed the title with sources close to the production. Nothing is known about the plot of the third film and the title doesn’t really provide any hints. Personally, I think the title “The Dark of the Moon” would work just as well for a sexy R&B album.

Transformers: The Dark of the Moon is in 3D, directed by Michael Bay, and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, and John Malkovich.  Hit the jump for a brief recap on what we know so far about the film, which opens July 1, 2011.

Alan Tudyk Reveals His Role in TRANSFORMERS 3

by     Posted 3 years, 355 days ago

alan_tudyk

In May, we reported that Alan Tudyk (Firefly) had joined the cast of Michael Bay’s Transformers 3, but we didn’t know what his role was.  In the article, Steve said he hoped that they would use Tudyk in a fun role and not something dark and serious (Tudyk’s talented enough to do either or both, although I know Steve didn’t mean to imply that he wasn’t).  Well, we now know it’s going to be a fun role as Tudyk has told Mira Sheila Sharma at From Hollywood With Love (via tfw2005 via /Film) that he is playing a Sector Seven Agent:

“I’m a fellow agent of [Agent Simmons (played once again by John Turturro)], that is sort of his assistant and weapons expert, computer hacker, cyber sleuth.”

Transformers 3 is slated to open on July 1, 2011.
