Summit Entertainment has unveiled a new poster for director Dean Parisot’s (Galaxy Quest) upcoming sequel Red 2.  The spy follow-up pits ex-CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) against Victoria (Helen Mirren) when MI6 greenlights his assassination as Interpol’s “Most Wanted.”  Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich reprise their characters from the first film as they’re joined by a bevy of newcomers that includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, and Anthony Hopkins.  This poster asks onlookers to test their knowledge of the aforementioned actors’ backsides, as the assembled cast is shown facing the opposite direction and striking some rather intimidating poses.

Hit the jump to take a look at the new poster.  Red 2 opens on August 2nd.

Doing its best to remind the world that G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens (for real this time) this year, a new Japanese trailer has surfaced.  It shows off a few new action sequences involving all of our favorite Joes, including Dwayne Johnson, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki and Bruce Willis.  Lee Byung-hun also gets a good amount of additional screen time in this go-round.

Also starring Channing Tatum, RZA, Elodie Yung, Walton Goggins and Ray Stevenson, G.I. Joe: Retaliation (or as the trailer says, G.I. Joe: Back to Revenge!) opens March 29th.  Hit the jump to check out the new trailer.

A new trailer for director Jon Chu’s sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been released.  As you’ll see, not much has changed other than the addition of more of Channing Tatum, which was one of the reasons for the film’s reshoots.  The other reason was for a 3D post-conversion, but we won’t know how that worked out until the trailer plays in theaters.  Ultimately, I can’t help but wonder if audiences will be scratching their heads as they ask, “Wasn’t this supposed to come out in last summer?”  Paramount is tasked with selling the movie all over again, and I do not envy them.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, RZA, Ray Stevenson, and D.J. CotronaG.I. A new international trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation has gone online.  You may recognize some of the footage from earlier trailers.  That’s mostly due in part to the film being pushed back from a June 29th, 2012 opening to a March 29th, 2013 release.  Call it time to work on the 3D post-conversion, or time to do reshoots to include more Channing Tatum, but at the end of the day the film still looks like a lot of fun.  Plus, you can’t really go wrong with Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis leading the way.

Jon Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation also stars Adrianne Palicki, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, RZA, Ray Stevenson, and D.J. CotronaG.I. Joe: Retaliation opens on March 29, 2013.

You may know him as Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter films, but now David Thewlis is set to join another franchise.  Thewlis will be a newcomer to Red 2, a sequel to director Robert Schwentke’s 2010 actioner.  Dean Parisot (Galaxy Queset) is taking the helm this time around, but original stars Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker will be reprising their roles.  Other new cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Neal McDonough and Anthony Hopkins.  Hit the jump for more on Thewlis’ character and a breakdown of the roles we know so far.

While we recently learned that Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot would be taking the helm of Red 2 (the sequel to the 2010 hit Red), we still didn’t know which original cast members would be returning for the follow-up.  Well Summit has made one big casting announcement today, confirming that Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, and Mary-Louise Parker will be reprising their roles from the first film alongside newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee.

The story for the follow-up will find the team of retired CIA operatives taking on a new set of enemies all across Europe.  The nature of Zeta-Jones’ role isn’t disclosed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she plays the film’s villain.  I have yet to see Red, but I love the hell out of Galaxy Quest and this is certainly an impressive cast so I’m definitely going to have to rectify that sooner rather than later. New Posters for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

Two new posters have been released for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  The only movie this summer with a ninja avalanche, the second G.I. Joe film looks like all kinds of fun.  The story has the Joes striking back after almost being wiped out by Cobra forces under the direction of Cobra Commander and Presidential impersonator, Zartan (the President is played by Jonathan Pryce).  However, I’m not sure the Joes will succeed if they can’t even notice the giant Cobra Commander head behind them.

New International Trailer for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

Though we’ve already posted a bounty of G.I. Joe: Retaliation material over the past few days, there’s one more Joe-related story to add to the pile: an international trailer.  The new trailer for the sequel premiered yesterday, and this international trailer differs from that one in two ways: more global focus, and more ninjas.  The first trailer for the film pleasantly surprised me, but yesterday’s clip left me a little disheartened.  I want to see a movie that’s not simply a CGI-heavy Transformers rehash, and I’m hoping director Jon M. Chu has a fun take up his sleeve that’s more hand-to-hand combat oriented.  Ninjas automatically make a movie at least 45% cooler, and Dwayne Johnson is the king of charisma.

Hit the jump to check out the international trailer and for a quick rundown on all our recent G.I. Joe: Retaliation coverage.  The film opens on June 29th and also stars Adrianne Palicki, Channing Tatum, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, RZA, Ray Stevenson, and D.J. Cotrona.

New G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Trailer Destroys London

Paramount has released a new trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation that reveals more of the story and showcases some really cool action that’s been amplified by some great looking CGI.  While I was in the minority for liking the first G.I. Joe movie, I’ll admit the new trailer looks like a huge step forward for the franchise and the casting of Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and Bruce Willis as the original Joe seems like it’s going to pay off in a big way at the box office.  Hit the jump to check out the new trailer which features London getting hit by a Cobra missle.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens June 29 and also stars Adrianne Palicki, Channing Tatum, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, RZA, Ray Stevenson, and D.J. Cotrona.

New Character Images from G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

It’s easy to get overshadowed with The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises crowding the spotlight, but G.I. Joe: Retaliation has more than enough might to muscle their way in.  In these new character images, we get a look at our favorite Joes in action, including the original Joe (Bruce Willis).  In this sequel directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 3D), the Joes are decimated by a Cobra attack that leaves only a few of the good guys standing. The remaining Joes must band together to take down the evil organization. G.I. Joe: Retaliation also stars Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Channing Tatum, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, RZA, Ray Stevenson and D.J. Cotrona. Almost none of the characters from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra are returning for the sequel, G.I. First Trailer for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

by     Posted 2 years, 252 days ago

The first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation has gone online. While I was underwhelmed by the Entertainment Tonight sneak peek, this full trailer is actually kind of fantastic (actual trailer editors > ET editors). It’s got some stellar action, a cool story, and a chill-inducing shot featuring the White House. The story finds the Joes in deep, as the entirety of the G.I. Joe team has been killed save for a few remaining survivors. Director Jon Chu has staged some nice action sequences here, and the trailer is elevated by a nifty cut of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.”

Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, and Bruce Willis. G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens June 29th, 2012.

Awesome Poster and Red-Band Trailer for I SAW THE DEVIL

One of the films I wanted to see at Sundance this year was the Korean horror-revenge thriller I Saw the Devil.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t work it into my schedule and a new red-band trailer has only made that regret grow deeper.  The film looks brutal, but I love the visual style on display and I’ve only heard raves about the flick from those who have seen it (click here to read Bill’s review).

Hit the jump to check out the trailer along with an equally-impressive poster.  I Saw the Devil stars Byung-hun Lee (The Good, The Bad, The Weird) and Min-sik Choi (Oldboy). The film opens in theaters and video-on-demand on March 4th.

Fantastic Fest 2010: I SAW THE DEVIL Review

If you knew how to track down a sadistic serial killer who had offed your fiancé, would you take your time to enact revenge or would you simply murder that person? Would you even bother to turn him in? That’s the basic premise of director Ji-woon Kim’s excellent and disturbing I Saw The Devil, which takes revenge to a sadistic new level and shows the sad results of such actions. Acted with little to no remorse, this gut-wrenching and violent thriller will have you on the edge of your seat for most of the second and third act, with a flourish of an ending that shows some true heart and why the battle between good and evil isn’t always black and white.
