When Ben Stiller spoke about Zoolander 2 last March, he said that the long-awaited sequel would see his Derek (Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) ten years later and that no one knows who they are anymore. We also learned that Mugatu (Will Ferrell) would be back as well. However, Stiller tweeted in May that the film may not happen. But our hopes were restored in November when Viacom COO Tom Dooley said that Paramount was still planning to make Zoolander 2.
Stiller now tells Empire that he’s completed a script with Iron Man 2 screenwriter Justin Theroux and they’re waiting to see what Paramount wants to do. Stiller also revealed that the film will take place in Europe and that Mugatu “features in a big way.” Hopefully this project won’t die in a freak gasoline-fight accident and we’ll see Blue Steel on screens once more.

If you like your fantasy adventure movies with a dash of contemporary, low-brow humor (and I know I do), then you’ll definitely want to check out Your Highness. The classic tale of a chivalrous quest to save a kidnapped princess is turned on its head in this story, written by Danny McBride and Ben Best (Eastbound & Down). McBride stars as a deadbeat prince who must accompany his valiant brother Fabious (James Franco) in an effort to rescue the dashing prince’s bride-to-be (Zooey Deschanel). The two brothers are joined in their quest by the rogue warrior, Isabel (Natalie Portman). Your Highness is directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) and produced by Scott Stuber (Scott Pilgrim vs the World).
In addition, we’ve got an exclusive interview with screenwriter Justin Theroux here and a more vulgar (and somehow less effective) red band trailer here. Hit the jump to see the newly cut green band trailer and full synopsis:

The red-band trailer for Your Highness has just been released and it looks every bit as amazing as the film sounds on paper. Directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), the adventure-comedy tells the story of two brothers on a quest to save their kingdom’s princess from an evil wizard before he has sex with her. Think The Princess Bride meets Superbad. Danny McBride and James Franco star as the two brothers, and are joined on their quest by the hilarious Natalie Portman (remember her digital shorts on SNL?). Zooey Deschanel plays the princess and Justin Theroux portrays the evil wizard who steals her away. McBride and his Eastbound and Down writing partner Ben Best wrote the screenplay.
Justin Theroux, who is also a screenwriter (he wrote Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2), recently sat down with Steve and discussed the film, which he describes as “insane.” Your Highness hits theaters April 8th, 2011. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, the synopsis, and a bunch of images:

While Justin Theroux has been acting in movie and TV shows for the last fifteen years, he’s recently started a new career in Hollywood: screenwriting. Due to being one of the screenwriters on Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder, Theroux met Robert Downey Jr., and since they got along so well, Downey pitched Theroux to Marvel for Iron Man 2. Cut to a few meetings later and he’s writing one of the most anticipated sequels of the last decade.
With Iron Man 2 set to debut in North America this Friday (it’s debuted overseas last weekend and raked in over $100 million), I recently spoke with Theroux about not only the highly-anticipated superhero film, but his other projects, which include Zoolander 2, Space Invaders, Chief Ron, and Your Highness (although he’s only acting in this one). I also asked if he or anyone else was working on Iron Man 3.
Trust me, if you want to know how Iron Man 2 was made and what’s up with the other films I just mentioned, you want to hit the jump:

Iron Man 2 screenwriter Justin Theroux recently confirmed that there would be an easter egg following the credits of the film just like the Samuel L. Jackson/Nick Fury cameo after the credits of the first Iron Man. Said Theroux:
No, [the easter egg's] got to be very specific because you can’t…if it was all of a sudden Tony opens a tool box and there’s a friggin’ hammer in there, you can’t bone the next guy. You know it’s not like…you want to create possibilities. So that’s a very thought out piece. If the shield all of a sudden just falls out of the sky, whatever it is, whatever that thing is, you want to be very specific about it.
Images from the easter egg have now leaked. If you want to be surprised, do not hit the jump. This is going to ruin the easter egg and part of the enjoyment of seeing it in the theater. That being said, we know a lot of people want to see them now so we’re giving you the choice. When the first Iron Man was released, rumors hit the net that a special Easter Egg for fans was included in the movie. It was reported Samuel L. Jackson was in the film as Nick Fury, but most assumed it was online chatter and wild fanboy speculation. Obviously the rumors were real, and the secret scene proved to be one of the most popular in the movie, leading Samuel L. Jackson to sign a huge deal with Marvel.
Cut to last week. A new rumor hit the net that Iron Man 2 would again include a secret scene after the closing credits. With Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America and The Avengers either filming or getting ready to film in the near future, many have been wondering what Marvel would do after the credits.
So when I got to sit down with IM2 screenwriter Justin Theroux yesterday, I decided to find out if there was a secret scene in the film. While he was guarded about saying too much, he did confirm you might want to stay through the credits. Hit the jump for more.

After a nine year hiatus, Zoolander 2 is going into pre-production with Justin Theorux set to direct and co-write the film. Deadline reports that the script is being handled by Theroux and Ben Stiller, who not only played the title character, but co-wrote and directed the first film. Theroux has worked with Stiller before on Tropic Thunder and is also the writer for this summer’s Iron Man 2. Theroux has announced he plans on attending fashion week in Paris to “immerse himself on what is current in fashion”. Currently Owen Wilson is not attached to reprise his role as Hansel but there are negotiations to have Jonah Hill play the villain.

Iron Man 2 and Tropic Thunder writer Justin Theroux is penning a new draft of Space Invaders–not based on the video game. The original spec by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger is about an astronaut who goes into space to catch his girlfriend in the act of cheating on him with a fellow astronaut. Even better: Will Arnett is attached to star! Get some of the space madness along with more details about the project after the jump.

Universal Studios has released synopses for some of their major 2010 films and the two that are especially worth reading are “MacGruber” and Ridley Scott’s “Untitled Robin Hood Adventure”. While it might surprise you to hear this, a few people have told me “MacGruber” is going to shock everyone next year as it’s a super-violent, hard-R movie. Also, I’ve heard there are many lines that we’re all going to quote. Did I mention Val Kilmer plays the villain and his name is Dieter Von Cunth? I know, I know–I am just as shocked to report SNL’s “MacGruber” might be a great movie.
As for Ridley Scott’s “Untitled Robin Hood Adventure”, this synopsis is the first real story details I’m hearing about the plot. Since I haven’t watched every version of “Robin Hood”, I’ll let the synopses do the talking, but I’m pretty sure we’re going to get a better version than Kevin Costner’s “Prince of Thieves”. Hit the jump for not only “MacGruber” and “Untitled Robin Hood Adventure”, but “Green Zone” starring Matt Damon, “Get Him to the Greek” starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, and “Your Highness” starring Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman.

Justin Theroux – actor/writer/producer, is adding another hyphen to his resume – that of big time director. According to Variety, Universal and Imagine Entertainment have tapped the “Tropic Thunder” and “Iron Man 2″ scribe to direct their new comedy, “Chief Ron”. The movie, about a man who claims Indian ancestry in order to open his own casino, was inspired by the life of one ‘Chief’ Ron Roberts. The blue-eyed Roberts prevailed in court against the suspicious Mohegan Nation and is now in the process of bringing the wonders of gambling to upstate New York. “Chief Ron”, the movie, will actually be Theroux’s second time in the director’s chair. In 2007 his romantic comedy “Dedication” played at Sundance before being picked up by The Weinstein Company – but because I never got to see that movie I’m thinking it doesn’t really count.
