After The Twilight Saga ends for Kristen Stewart this November 16th, she may have a role lined up to star opposite Ben Affleck in Focus.  We previously reported that Affleck was circling a role, and Warner Bros. was looking to fast-track the project once they found a female lead.  It looks like Stewart is their choice.  Focus, written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa of Crazy Stupid Love,  tells the story of a “veteran con man who gets involved with a newcomer to the grifter business. They get involved romantically but that becomes perilous in a business where they lie and cheat for a living. The complications of the encounter haunt them when they meet up again in the future.”  Hit the jump for more.

A new clip from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.  We recently saw a clip from the film in which Kristen Stewart’s Bella was having fun with her new vampire powers, but this clip focuses on the character re-learning how to act human.  Apparently it’s hard for vampires to control how awesome they are, so Bella has to consciously learn how to fake human things like blinking, slouching, and breathing.  What a drag!

Well, today is the day for supernatural sequel clips it seems, because we have two to share with you. First up from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2this new clip features newly-turned vampire, Bella (Kristen Stewart) arm wrestling against Emmett (Kellan Lutz).  They amazingly assembled everything about this property that sets my teeth on edge (bad dialogue, terrible make-up, impromptu musical cues, etc) into one concise clip.  Directed by Bill Condon, the film also stars Robert PattinsonTaylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser and Jackson Rathbone.  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

We’ve also got a clip from Michael J. Bassett’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.   This one centers on Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) calling her father (Sean Bean) in fear that someone is following her.  He gives her some sage fatherly advice and then OH NO LOOK OUT SEAN BEAN! The film opens on October 26th. New Featurette and TV Spot for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2

A new featurette and TV spot for the concluding chapter in the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, have been released.  The TV spot doesn’t look like it includes any new footage, but the featurette provides a pretty cool look at the film’s big action effects and stunt work.  A good deal of the featurette is also devoted to the cast trying to explain the ridiculous plot, which involves a governing group of vampires getting angry with Kristen Stewart’s Bella and Robert Pattinson’s Edward because they did the nasty and made a baby.

Hit the jump to check out the featurette and TV spot.  Directed by Bill Condon, the film also stars Taylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone.  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN Blu-ray Review

Snow White and the Huntsman is part – and in some ways a culmination – of the worst instincts of big budgets Hollywood fantasies. It tries to combine the appeal of the Lord of the Rings films with a known property, Campbellian archetypes and a more dark and serious take on fantasy material. It’s garbage, easily one of the worst films of 2012. Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron lead the cast in this botched adaptation of the children’s classic. Our review of the film on Blu-ray follows after the jump.

Final Trailer for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2

by     Posted 284 days ago

A new trailer for the final entry in the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, has been released.  If you’ve been waiting patiently to see Kristen Stewart viciously tackle a mountain lion, your moment has come.  This trailer focuses on Stewart’s newfound vampire powers and sets up the major conflict in the film: the vampire government (cult?) the Volturi is angry because they think Bella and Edward created a vampire baby by biting a child, which is apparently frowned upon in the Twilight universe.  As we all know, Renesmee is the fruit of some good old fashioned baby-makin’, but I guess instead of trying to sort out this misunderstanding, the two factions of vampires—and Jacob—decide it’s better to go to war.  The drama and action levels look to have been upped considerably for this finale, and fans of the book series will likely be pleased with the results.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  Directed by Bill Condon, the film also stars Robert Pattinson, Mackenzie Foy, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, and Jackson Rathbone.  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

We’ve already seen a number of trailers for director Walter Salles’ (The Motorcycle Diaries) adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel On the Road, but the first official U.S. trailer has just now made its debut.  Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, and Sam Riley star as the central characters Marylou, Dean, and Sal, respectively, and this trailer is much more frenetic than what we’ve seen before.  It’s billed as a teaser trailer and thus is light on dialogue and heavy on fast cuts.  The film premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival where it received mixed reviews (read a round-up of the reactions right here), but Salles has apparently re-cut the film for its theatrical release.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Viggo MortensenKirsten DunstAmy Adams, and Elizabeth MossOn the Road will screen at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival and opens in U.S. theaters on December 21st.
