Hot on the heels of Marvel’s reveal of their Comic-Con exclusive Ant-Man poster come two new examples of concept art for Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Andy Park, who created the Ant-Man design, also produced this new look at Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), which debuts alongside an equally impressive Iron Man poster from artist Ryan Meinerding.  It suffices as a tease for what’s sure to be a cavalcade of Marvel goodies at San Diego Comic-Con.

Starring Robert Downey Jr.Chris EvansChris HemsworthMark RuffaloScarlett JohanssonJeremy RennerJames SpaderPaul Bettany, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1, 2015.  Hit the jump to see the full Comic-Con posters and for more on how you can get your own, and click here to see the posters for Black Widow and Captain America.

International TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Posters Play Up the Action

I want to lie.  I want to say I’m angry about director Jonathan Liebesman’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.  But I’m not.  Even as a childhood fan of the somewhat violent Black & White comics I don’t feel violated.  I’m an adult now, and this is a movie about giant turtles.  And, that being said, it actually doesn’t even look that bad for a kids movie.  And a “kids movie” is certainly what these posters are selling.  Because one of them is a dramatic rendering of turtles plummeting away from an explosion.

In the new live-action iteration, a city is in the iron grip of Shredder (William Fichtner) and the Foot Clan, and it’s up to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with the help of reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), to stop Shredder and save the day.  Hit the jump to check out international versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles posters.  The film also features the voices of Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub and opens in theaters on August 8th.

Brand New Mark Englert JURASSIC WORLD Poster Will Be Available at San Diego Comic-Con [UPDATED with Variant]

by     Posted 63 days ago

jurassic-world-poster-slice

Well, this is going to be a problem.  Colin Trevorrow just tweeted out a stunning Jurassic World poster that a special few will get their hands on at San Diego Comic-Con, but included zero details on how to get it.  I’m still bummed I haven’t been able to get the JC Richard or Aaron Horkey Jurassic Park prints for Mondo, so scoring one of these Mark Englert designs might have to be an SDCC 2014 priority.

The combination of the old and new here is particularly impressive.  We’ve got the park construction going on in the background, but a very familiar smashed Jurassic Park vehicle up front.  However, it isn’t the one responsible for the destruction looming over the flipped car, but rather a Velociraptor.  Perhaps they’re the guys in charge this time around?  Hit the jump to check out the art for yourself.  The film opens on June 12, 2015 in 3D and IMAX, and stars Chris PrattBryce Dallas HowardVincent D’OnofrioIrrfan KhanNick RobinsonTy SimpkinsJake Johnson, Omar Sy, and Judy Greer.

THE EXPENDABLES 3 Character Posters Get Colorful

Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Lionsgate has unveiled a collection of The Expendables 3 characters posters, and they’re a bit, um, different.  Instead of the grit and grime of all the other marketing for the action franchise, these new posters go the opposite route and paint Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, and Co. in some bright primary colors.  I’m not sure these posters are “good” necessarily, but it’s certainly a welcome change from the bland marketing thus far.  If only the actual films were this lively.

If you liked the recently released character posters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but thought to yourself, “Hey, these things could sure use a bit more … motion,” then boy are you gonna love these new motion posters!  Clearly meant for smartphones or some other type of vertically inclined viewing device, Paramount has released one new motion poster featuring each of the heroes-in-a-half shell in action.  Not only do we get a brief listen to what Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello sound like, but we get an idea of how their personalities will play out on screen.  They’re actually quite well done (aside from their orientation).

Starring Megan Fox, Will ArnettWilliam FichtnerAlan RitchsonPete PloszekJeremy HowardNoel Fisher, and Danny Woodburn, with Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub voicing Leonardo and Splinter respectively, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8th.  Hit the jump to take a look at the new motion posters.

New EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS Posters and Images Place Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton in Ancient Egypt

Ahead of the trailer debut later today, 20th Century Fox has released the first Exodus: Gods and Kings posters as well as some new high-resolution images from director Ridley Scott’s Biblical epic.  The film finds Christian Bale filling the role of Moses while Joel Edgerton (Warrior) plays Ramses, and it looks to be a rather curious picture.  The Australia-born Edgerton isn’t exactly the epitome of an ancient Egyptian, and the eclectic cast is filled out by the likes of Aaron Paul, Sir Ben Kingsley, John Turturro, and Sigourney Weaver.  We’ll have a much better idea of what to expect once the trailer hits, but for now these posters and images are certainly tantalizing.

Evidence Surfaces in New GONE GIRL Teaser Posters [Updated]

by     Posted 79 days ago

gone-girl-teaser-posters

It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything new from David Fincher’s adaptation of the Gillian Flynn Best Seller, Gone Girl.  In fact, I’d almost forgotten the movie was on the way until I caught a trailer before a screening of Deliver Us From Evil the other night.  However, that’s changing fast because we’ve got a brand new trailer for the October 3rd release set to arrive on Monday, July 7th and this time around, 20th Century Fox is giving us not one, but four teaser images to go along with it.

Running with a more immersive marketing method, the campaign is dishing out four “evidence bags,” all with items pertaining to Amy Dunne’s (Rosamund Pike) disappearance.  So far we’ve got one with a photo from Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy’s wedding in it, one with a seemingly burnt note dated July 5, 2012 that reads, “This man may kill me,” and another with a little lingerie tucked inside it.  The fourth image has yet to surface, but you can check out the first three Gone Girl teaser posters after the jump.  Don’t forget to come back on Monday to watch the new trailer. [Update: We've added the fourth and final poster to the article.]

HEMLOCK GROVE Season 2 Posters; The Godfreys Reveal Their Demons

hemlock-grove-season-2-slice

The Vargulf isn’t the only monster within Hemlock Grove.  The second season of the Eli Roth-produced Netflix series is set to debut on July 11th, and it’ll involve a brand new dark force moving into town, something dubbed, “The Big Bad.”  On top of that, the Godfreys are stuck dealing with a heap of family drama thanks to the events of the first season.  Roman (Bill Skarsgård) wants nothing to do with his mother (Famke Janssen), Shelley’s (Madeleine Martin) gone and then poor Norman (Dougray Scott) is all alone, and all of this tragedy is personified in these new Hemlock Grove season 2 posters.

Hit the jump to catch the designs for Norman, Shelley, Olivia and one particularly unsettling poster for Roman, too.  With the release of Hemlock Grove’s new season fast approaching, Netflix plans to unveil even more character posters and, odds are, the next set will feature the Rumanceks, and possibly newcomer Madeline Brewer’s (Orange is the New Black) character, too. And if you want to learn more about the upcoming season right now, you can check out our Hemlock Grove season 2 set visit report right here.

Groot, Rocket, and Gamora Get New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Posters; Michael Rooker’s Yondu Teased in New Image

Only one superhero movie remains for Summer 2014, and fittingly Marvel will be bookending the blockbuster season.  We previously saw a string of Guardians of the Galaxy posters released that highlighted each character, but a few more posters have now landed online that give the CG characters Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) their own one-sheets, as well as a deadly new poster for Zoe Saldana’s Gamora.  Moreover, writer/director James Gunn has also shared a new image that teases Michael Rooker as Yondu.  I continue to look forward to the film, but I’m hoping Disney doesn’t go into marketing overload and start revealing scenes from the third act in the final leg of the film’s promotion.

Hit the jump to take a look at the new Guardians of the Galaxy posters and the Michael Rooker image.  The film also stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen GillanGlenn CloseBenicio Del ToroDjimon Hounsou, John C. GOTHAM Posters Tease Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and More

by     Posted 89 days ago

Given the level of interest it’s generating, you’d think Fox had brought back Christopher Nolan to direct its new Batman TV show.  Fans are eager to get a look at Gotham when the series debuts this fall, and Fox is happily satiating the interest by doling out bits and pieces of the show here and there.  Today, the network has released a collection of Gotham posters that give us a look at the characters that will be populating the show’s iteration of Gotham City.  A Batman prequel series of sorts, Gotham focuses on the exploits of a young James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as his navigates his way through the Gotham police department and strikes up a friendship with the recently orphaned Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).  It’s an interesting way to tap into the comic book fever, but all of this is moot if the show isn’t any good.  Here’s hoping for the best.

Hit the jump to take a look at the Gotham character posters, which also feature Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cory Michael Smith as Riddler, Camren Bicondova as Catwoman, and Clare Foley as Poison Ivy.  Gotham debuts on Fox this fall.

New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Trailer and Posters Bring the Dubstep to Introduce Shredder

by     Posted 90 days ago

teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-trailer-posters

Paramount Pictures has released a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer as well as a collection of character posters for director Jonathan Liebesman’s adaptation of the popular property. There’s a bit of a disconnect in the trailer in that, aesthetically, the film looks like Transformers, but the tone seems geared towards a younger, less serious audience.  Even Shredder, which we get a good look at here, just looks like a modified Transformer.  I think more colorful/goofy is the way to go with this franchise (you can’t make a “gritty” TMNT without it coming off as ridiculous), but I still can’t tell who this movie is aimed at.  And then there’s the dubstep.

Hit the jump to check out the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer and posters.  The film also features the voices of Johnny Knoxville and Tony ShalhoubTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens in theaters on August 8th.
