As you’ve probably noticed, over the past 48 hours, we’ve posted a ton of toy articles.  The reason is every February in New York City, the toy industry holds its yearly convention (Toy Fair) and it’s where every toy manufacturer shows off their upcoming products.  If you’re a fan of movie related toys, Lego, or just cool stuff, Toy Fair is basically a huge preview of what you’ll be spending your money on this year.

Anyway, while walking around the show yesterday, Samantha Cheirif took a number of pictures and this batch covers Mezco Toyz Breaking Bad and NECA’s Carrie, Kick-Ass 2, Pacific Rim, Prometheus, Aliens, Rambo, The Lone Ranger, The Hobbit, Gremlins and more.  Hit the jump to check out the images.

Before Toy Fair opened its doors earlier today, Lego invited select members of the press to check out some of their upcoming 2013 sets at a closed door event.  Included in the presentation were new sets for The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and The Lone Ranger.  Hit the jump to check them out.  My favorite is The Lord of the Rings Battle at the Black Gate.  Although The Lord of the Rings Pirate Ship Ambush is also pretty cool.  Look for a lot more Toy Fair images soon.

This weekend, we’ve been showing you toys from Toy Fair 2013 including action figures for Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, and more. It’s all about the merchandising, and if you’re going to get reasonably-priced action figures, you can’t do much better than NECA.  The toymaker has released images for some of their big 2013 toys with a look at their figures for The Lone Ranger and Kick-Ass 2.  The figures look good, but they also provide our first look at Kick-Ass 2‘s villain, “The Motherfucker” (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), formerly Red Mist.  It’s a wild costume, I’m curious to see what it looks like in real life.

Hit the jump to check out the toys.  The Lone Ranger opens July 3rd.  Kick-Ass 2 opens June 28th.

Tonight during Super Bowl XLVII, new ads ran for Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Lone Ranger, Oz the Great and Powerful, World War Z, Snitch, 21 & Over, and Fast & Furious 6.  If you missed the big game, aren’t planning to watch the game, or just want to watch the ads again, we’ve got them all in one handy article.  Now that all the ads have been posted, I’ve added my thoughts.

We’ve already revealed teasers for the Super Bowl ads for Oz the Great and Powerful and The Lone Ranger (although the latter is during the pre-game), plus reported on the first look at Fast & Furious 6 as well as the Star Trek Into Darkness app that will start up during the second quarter.  According to THR, there will also be ads for World War Z and Iron Man 3.  Sony, Fox, and Warner Bros. are skipping out on the Super Bowl, and you can’t really blame them since adtime is averaging around $3.75 million.  Personally, I’m most excited for the no-name company that purchases adtime and runs a horribly offensive commercial (there’s always one).  For non-movie ads, there will be the usual suspects the Budweiser Clydesdales, E-Trade’s talking baby, and Danica Patrick for GoDaddy.com.  I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a few Bud Light commercials show up, and those are usually among the best of the night.

Hit the jump for details on the ads.  Super Bowl XLVII begins at 6:30pm EST.

Teaser for THE LONE RANGER Super Bowl Spot plus New Poster

Super Bowl XLVII is nearly upon us, and even though my beloved Falcons aren’t playing (10 yards shy of victory!), it will still be worth watching for both the football (Go Niners!) and for the ads (Go consumer culture!).  Studios will be showing ads for their biggest movies, and yesterday Disney showed off a teaser for their Oz the Great and Powerful ad.  Today, Disney has released a brief teaser for the Super Bowl spot for The Lone Ranger.  What’s weird about the teaser is that to watch the whole thing, you have to tune into the pre-show, and that’s never going to happen.  Adtime during gametime is running between $3.7 million and $3.8 million, so I can’t help but wonder if Disney is trying to save money by running their Lone Ranger ad before the game.  That seems like a wasted half-measure because the pre-game show lasts about 39 hours.  It would be better to air the ad during Puppy Bowl.

Hit the jump to check out the Super Bowl teaser along with a new poster.  The film stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham CarterThe Lone Ranger opens July 3rd.

Movie news comes via some strange sources; take these new LEGO sets for example.  New LEGO displays at the 2013 London Toy Fair have revealed some spoilers for such upcoming films as Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and The Lone Ranger.  The spoilers come mostly in the vein of action sequences or locations for epic battles, but there are a few character inclusions that may raise an eyebrow or too as well.  Hit the jump to check out images and descriptions of the new LEGO sets.

Hans Zimmer Replaces Jack White on THE LONE RANGER

There’s been a bit of a behind-the-scenes change on director Gore Verbinski’s upcoming adventure pic The Lone Ranger.  This past April, welcome news came in the form of Jack White signing on to pen the score to Verbinski’s Western, but it appears that scheduling issues have gotten in the way and White has exited the project.  In his stead will be frequent Verbinski collaborator Hans Zimmer, who of course composed the unforgettable score for the director’s Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Disney explained in a statement (via The Playlist) that White “has contributed several pieces of music to the production,” but became logistically unavailable when the film’s release date was pushed from May to July.  It’s a bummer that we won’t get to hear an original Western score from White, but Zimmer isn’t too shabby as a replacement.  Hopefully White’s work will see the light of day at some point, either in the finished film as a couple of standalone tracks or as part of an EP  The Lone Ranger is set to open on July 3, 2013.

New Trailer for THE LONE RANGER Starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer

A new trailer for director Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Rangerhas been released.  This new trailer finally takes a little bit of focus off of Johnny Depp‘s Tonto and places it on the eponymous character (Armie Hammer).  We learn a little bit of the hero’s back story, and that Silver is a very odd horse.  I’m not sure if I’ll ever get used to Tonto’s fractured dialogue or Bojan Bazelli‘s washed-out cinematography, but Verbinski’s earned my trust, so I’ll keep hoping that this movie delivers.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter.  The Lone Ranger opens July 3, 2013.

First Trailer for THE LONE RANGER Starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer

The first trailer for director Gore Verbinski’s (the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) The Lone Ranger has been released.  Though the film features what are likely a couple of showy performances from Johnny Depp (Tonto) and The Social Network‘s Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger himself), this trailer is mostly about trains.  Matt made a similar comment regarding the footage shown at Comic-Con, so it’s safe to assume that the mode of transportation plays a large role in the film.  Verbinski appears to have put together one hell of a pretty-lookin’ movie, but we don’t see or hear enough of Depp’s Tonto to judge whether he’s veered too far over the top or hit that Jack Sparrow sweet spot.  I’m encouraged by Verbinski’s talent and the impressive line of actors in the ensemble (including trailer-narrator Tom Wilkinson as the villain), so hopefully we’re in for a big, fun Western adventure.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter.  The Lone Ranger opens July 3, 2013.

After squinting at set photos and videos over the past couple of months, we got a fresh batch of official images from director Gore Verbinski’s (the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) The Lone Ranger yesterday.  Now a few more images have surfaced, giving us further looks at stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in the adventure pic.  While yesterday’s images were more atmospheric in nature, this batch gives us a closer look at a couple of action sequences.  Verbinski crafted three thrilling adventure epics with his Pirates films, and I’m looking forward to seeing what his $250 million Western has in store for us.  With two sets of images having been released in two days, I wouldn’t be surprised if a teaser trailer of some sort was right around the corner.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter.  The Lone Ranger opens July 3, 2013.

[Update: The first teaser poster has now been released and is included after the jump as well. The film's trailer debuts tomorrow morning at 10am EST so be sure to check back here on Collider to see the first footage.]

New Images from THE LONE RANGER Starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer [Updated with High-Resolution]

After 150 days, filming has wrapped on Gore Verbinski‘s The Lone Ranger.  It hasn’t been an easy production, which was delayed due to budget concerns.  THR reports that once shooting finally began, the production was beset by dust and wind storms, the on-set death of a welder, and Johnny Depp sustaining an injury, all of which reportedly caused the budget to balloon back to the $250 million (or more) Disney wanted to avoid.  While studios are doing their best to try and be more careful with what they spend, Verbinski’s blockbusters have never been cheap, although I’m not sure why a western would cost so much even with the delays (the original budget was $215 million).

Hit the jump to check out new images from the movie along with some quotes from Verbinski.  The film also stars Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham CarterThe Lone Ranger opens July 3, 2013. We recently posted some set photos of Johnny Depp in costume as Tonto in Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger; one of those photos featured a gently-used railroad caboose.  In a new batch of set photos, that railroad car is central to a practical stunt sequence that involves Depp and the Lone Ranger himself, Armie Hammer.  As a bonus, we’ve included a video that lets you see the duo in action during the stunt (sort of).  While no horses were involved in the train car stunt, we do have some shots of Depp and Hammer with their respective steeds.  Hit the jump to check them out. The Lone Ranger rides into theaters July 3rd, 2013.

If you’ve spent the better part of your work week in search of grainy topless photos, search no further because you’ve come to the right place!  We’ve got twenty images of Johnny Depp from the set of The Lone Ranger.  The Gore Verbinski film adapts the iconic radio personalities of John Reid, aka The Lone Ranger (as played by Armie Hammer) and his Native American compatriot, Tonto (Depp).  After the production looked to be in dire straits earlier this year with a rapidly-swelling budget, but a Comic-Con trailer and recently posted set photos have shown that The Lone Ranger is back on track.  Hit the jump to see the new set photos of Depp in costume as Tonto.
