Sony Pictures Classics has released the first clip from Richard Linklater‘s Before Midnight. The new film takes place 18 years after Before Sunrise and 9 years after Before Sunset, and sees Celine (Julie Delpy) and Jesse (Ethan Hawke) navigating married life on a trip to Greece. Like the previous films, it’s a lot of walking and talking, but it absolutely works because of the intimate and lived-in chemistry between the lead actors, who also co-wrote the film with Linklater. I adored the movie when I saw it at Sundance, and this clip provides a good sense of the second act as the couple reflects back on the arc of their unique relationship.
Hit the jump to check out the clip. Before Midnight opens in limited release on May 24th.

Paramount Pictures has released yet another new clip from Star Trek Into Darkness. All of the previous clips have focused on the Enterprise crew in some sort of peril, and this clip is no different as we see Chris Pine’s Kirk and Simon Pegg’s Scotty running into a bit of trouble aboard the Enterprise. As yesterday’s new poster hinted, Into Darkness will find the film’s characters facing down quite a lot of dangerous and deadly situations, but I’m looking forward to seeing how J.J. Abrams infuses humor into the story as well.
Hit the jump to watch the new clip. The film stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Alice Eve, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D and 3D in traditional theaters on May 17th.

Finally opening Stateside this weekend is Shane Black’s Iron Man 3. The international debut has already set new box office records and will likely set the pace for the rest of 2013′s superhero features. In a new clip from Iron Man 3, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle appear out of their armor as Tony Stark and James Rhodes respectively. Rhodes-y is worried about his pal, and with good reason.
Also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Sir Ben Kingsley, Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3rd. Hit the jump to watch the clip and a new TV spot.

In this new clip from J.J. Abram’s upcoming Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, Chris Pine’s James T. Kirk and Benedict Cumberbatch’s John Harrison have a heated exchange through a plate-glass prison wall. While there’s no action in this particular scene, the clip does a nice job of showcasing Kirk’s passionate fury and Harrison’s cold and calculating nature (and apparently his penchant for reciting numerals).
The film also stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban. Star Trek Into Darkness is slated for a May 15th IMAX 3D release and a 2D and 3D release on May 17th. Hit the jump to watch the clip and for details on how you can meet the film’s director and cast at the Los Angeles premiere!

Director Nicolas Winding Refn’s follow-up to his fantastic 2011 film Drive is set to make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival next month, but three whole clips from Only God Forgives have graciously made their way online a tad early. The film’s red-band trailer promised another intense and gorgeous collaboration between Refn and star Ryan Gosling, and these three clips don’t disappoint. While I’m eager to see what the always-reliable Gosling has in store for us this time around, it’s Kristin Scott Thomas who is the highlight of these clips as she plays the mother of Gosling’s character, a woman who urges her son to seek violent revenge for the death of his brother in Thailand.
Hit the jump to bask in the moodiness of Refn’s latest. Only God Forgives also stars Vithaya Pansringarm and will open in theaters on July 19th.

Warner Bros. has released 7 clips (almost 5 minutes of footage) from director Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. For those unfamiliar with F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s source material, the story centers on a would-be writer (Tobey Maguire) chasing the American dream who moves to New York City in the spring of 1922 and encounters a mysterious millionaire named Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). The film also stars Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke and Adelaide Clemens.
If you weren’t aware, Luhrmann shot Gatsby in 3D, so I’d advise paying the extra money to see it in that format. Also, I saw some of the film in 3D and it looked like Luhrmann used the format to help tell the story. Hit the jump to watch the clips. The Great Gatsby opens May 10th.

It’s tough to imagine there’s someone out there who has yet to decide whether they’re going to see Iron Man 3 or not, but Disney is nevertheless still keen on releasing clips from the film to entice fans even further. Last night we saw a clip that focused on Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark dealing with the after effects of the events that transpired in The Avengers, but today’s clip is 100% action-oriented. The clip highlights an aerial action sequence from the film that takes place in (and outside of) Air Force One midflight, and director Shane Black filmed actual skydivers falling to Earth in order to bring some much-welcomed reality to the sequence.
Hit the jump to watch the latest clip. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Sir Ben Kingsley. Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3rd.

The first footage from director Edgar Wright’s new film The World’s End has made its way online, albeit in very, very brief fashion. The footage debuts by way of a montage of clips from this summer’s upcoming films, and though it’s only two short snippets, it should suffice as a nice tease for fans who are eagerly awaiting the third and likely final installment of the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy that began with Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost’s Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. The story centers on five childhood friends (played by Pegg, Frost, Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine, and Martin Freeman) going through an epic pub crawl in order to reach the fabled pub, “The World’s End”. But as they make their way to the pub, they discover that the fate of humankind is on the line.
These two brief pieces of footage don’t reveal much other than Simon Pegg acting like a goofball, but a debut trailer for the film is expected to drop very soon. Really looking forward to this one, so hopefully that wait is a short one. Hit the jump to watch the footage. The World’s End also stars Rosamund Pike and opens in the U.K. on July 19th and in the U.S. on August 23rd.

Marvel has released a new clip from Iron Man 3, which shows Tony Stark dealing with the fallout of the events of The Avengers: “Nothing’s been the same since New York.” Robert Downey Jr. walks the fine line of arrogance and charm better than just about any other actor, but it helps for us to see Stark in a vulnerable moment, as he is here with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).
Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley also star. Directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), Iron Man 3 opens May 3. Watch the clip after the jump.

This week has been nothing but great for Trekkies everywhere who are anxiously awaiting the release of J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. And Paramount has now made available a new Spock promo featuring Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as two new character posters for Simon Pegg’s Scotty and Anton Yelchin’s Chekov. The promo is a combination of various Spock scenes with images of Cumberbatch’s menacing antagonist. It’s perfectly laced together with the villain’s voice as he threatens to use Spock’s uniqueness and feelings of alienation against him. Meanwhile, the character posters show some intense moments as both Scotty and Chekov seem to be in two very different perilous situations. Scotty is seen running at mighty speed to avoid sparks and possible falling debris, while Chekov looks like he’s being faced with an extremely difficult task.
Hit the jump to watch the promo and view the new character posters. The film also stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve, Karl Urban, and John Cho. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D and 3D on May 17th.

A new clip for the highly-anticipated sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, from sci-fi extraordinaire director J.J. Abrams, has been released. The clip features three of the main stars of the film – Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto’s Spock and Zoe Saldana’s Uhura – as they become the target of a ship pursuit and race through treacherous paths in an attempt to escape the firing blasts of their enemy. Compared to the first clip, this one is saturated with fast-paced thrills, showcasing what’s likely to be one of the movie’s most fascinating action sequences.
Hit the jump to watch the clip. The film also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Alive Eve, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, and Karl Urban. Star Trek Into Darkness is slated for a May 15th IMAX 3D release and a 2D and 3D release on May 17th.

Paramount Pictures has released the first clip from director J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. This clip, I believe, comes from a scene towards the very beginning of the movie, so fans needn’t worry about any major spoilers. We see Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew (in some fairly skin-tight outfits, natch) discussing how to proceed when faced with a rather precarious situation that involves Zachary Quinto’s Spock. It’s an interesting choice for a premiere clip, as it’s not an action-heavy scene and doesn’t feature much humor (save for a great reaction from Simon Pegg’s Scotty). Instead, the clip focuses on the heart of Star Trek, which is its characters.
Hit the jump to watch the clip. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, and Peter Weller. Star Trek Into Darkness opens on in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D and 3D on May 17th.

Tomorrow marks an unofficial holiday that is celebrated by a certain subset of citizens, and there’s likely a rather large crossover between 4/20 observers and fans who are looking forward to the comedy This Is the End. As part of the promotion for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s apocalyptic comedy (which also marks their directorial debut), a new promo video has been released along with a pretty smart bit of marketing: if you buy your tickets to This Is the End on 4/20, Regal Cinemas will buy your popcorn for the movie. Sounds like a swell deal to me.
Hit the jump to watch how Rogen, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, and Danny McBride celebrate 4/20. The film also stars Jonah Hill, Emma Watson, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Paul Rudd, Martin Starr, Mindy Kaling, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, and Rihanna. This Is the End opens on June 14, 2013.

Yesterday, a new image from Star Trek Into Darkness was released that showcased Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain John Harrison looking rather, well, villainous. Today, Paramount has released a new promo clip for the film that features Harrison monologuing over some fuzzy clips from the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel. He’s obviously not very fond of Chris Pine’s James T. Kirk, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the showdown between these two characters when the pic hits theaters next month.
Hit the jump to watch the new video. The film also stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller. Star Trek Into Darkness opens on in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D and 3D on May 17th.
