Summit Entertainment has released six new character posters for Ender’s Game.  The film tells the story of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a young boy sent away to Battle School to hone his military skills in order to save the world from an impending alien invasion.  Rather than give you the names of the actors, these new posters provide the character names, so these are more for the fans of the book since the name “Hyrum Graff” doesn’t really mean anything to the uninitiated other than “Harrison Ford is playing a guy named Hyrum Graff.  That’s an odd name.”  Fans will note that Major Anderson’s gender has been changed to female for the movie, which isn’t a big deal, especially when you have a talented actress like Viola Davis for the role.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Nonso Anozie, and Ben KingsleyEnder’s Game opens November 1st.

Entertainment Weekly’s onslaught of images from upcoming movies continues with a new look at Doug Liman‘s All You Need Is KillTom Cruise stars as a military officer who is killed within minutes of a doomed combat mission to take down a hive-like alien race.  He wakes up and is forced to relive the day over and over again, but it allows him to become a better soldier and perhaps change his fate. Our first official look at the film was Cruise in a mech suit, and now we see co-star Emily Blunt has a sweet suit of her own.  In a related story, Emileeid.com is reporting that the international title has been changed to Edge of Tomorrow, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the U.S. gets that title as well.  It’s almost as bland as “Oblivion”.

Hit the jump to check out the image.  The film also stars Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Charloette Riley, and Bill PaxtonAll You Need Is Kill opens June 6, 2014.  After the jump, there are also new images from Ender’s Game, which opens November 1st, and stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Khylin Rhambo, Moises Arias, and Ben Kingsley.

This morning, Entertainment Weekly unveiled it’s Comic-Con-centric cover for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  Inside this week’s issue, though, EW also has new cover images for Carrie, Ender’s Game, and the buzzworthy BBC series Orphan BlackChloe Grace Moretz is fittingly seen covered in blood in her Carrie cover, while we get another look at Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford in uniform for the highly anticipated sci-fi adaptation Ender’s Game.  A proper panel for Carrie isn’t on the SDCC 2013 schedule, but we will indeed see ones for Ender’s Game and Orphan Black, with the latter’s star Tatiana Maslany also taking part in EW’s “Women Who Kick Ass” Hall H panel on Saturday.

Hit the jump to take a look at the covers.  Carrie opens on October 18th and Ender’s Game hits theaters on November 1st.

Five character posters have been released for Gavin Hood‘s adaptation of Ender’s Game.  The film tells the story of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a young boy sent away to Battle School to hone his military skills and, hopefully, save the world from an impending alien invasion.  We previously saw some propaganda-style posters, and we also found out that the movie would have a major presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.  These five character posters are kind of bland unless you need a new poster of Harrison Ford glowering at you.  Nothing gets people in the seats like a good Ford glower.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Khylin Rhambo, Moises Arias, and Ben KingsleyEnder’s Game opens November 1st. [Update: we have removed the posters at the request of the studio.]

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for director Gavin Hood’s anticipated adaptation of the Orson Scott Card novel Ender’s Game.  The film tells the story of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a young boy sent away to Battle School to hone his military skills and, hopefully, save the world from an impending alien invasion.  I plan to read the book before I see the movie, but was someone who is unfamiliar with the material, nothing in this trailer really leaps out at me.  It feels like they’re pushing a Hunger Games-vibe (putting a heavy burden on young adults) plus a lot of CG.  Also, Harrison Ford sounds really bored even though his narration is about trying to save humanity from annihilation.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Khylin Rhambo, Moises Arias, and Ben Kingsley.  Ender’s Game opens on November 1st.

Earlier today, I had a chance to talk to Asa Butterfield (Hugo) about his upcoming film Ender’s Game.  Butterfield stars in the lead role of the Orson Scott Card novel adaptation written and directed by Gavin Hood (Tsotsi).  During our exclusive phone interview, Butterfield talked about his approach to playing Ender, collaborating with Hood, working with veterans Harrison Ford and Sir Ben Kingsley, the rigorous physical demands of wirework and a specific scene in the Battle Room with co-star Hailee Steinfeld.

Also starring Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Nonso Anozie, Moises Arias and Aramis KnightEnder’s Game opens November 1st (and it may just be my most anticipated film of the year).  Hit the jump for the full interview and beware that some spoilers follow.

Things have been a bit quite on the Ender’s Game front recently, but Summit Entertainment has revealed the full synopsis for the film. Fans of the Orson Scott Card classic will find nothing new here, but those of you who are unfamiliar with the story might find the synopsis surprisingly spoilery. There are no major reveals ruined, but it does give a way more than is necessary as to the progression of title character Ender Wiggin’s promotions in the Battle School.

Starring Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis and Abigail Breslin, writer/director Gavin Hood’s Ender’s Game will open in theaters November 1st, 2013.  Hit the jump to read the new synopsis but beware spoilers

ENDER’S GAME to be Released in IMAX, Plus New Production Updates

For a project that has the epic scope of Ender’s Game, it’s only fitting that the film be released in IMAX.  Fans can look forward to seeing the adaptation of the beloved Orson Scott Card novel in IMAX format when it debuts in theaters November 1st, 2013.  The sci-fi film from director Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) follows Andrew “Ender” Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a boy trained at a military battle school in the hopes that he’ll develop a strategy to defeat the alien menace known as the Formics.  This will make two big features for Lionsgate being released in the same month (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire releases November 22nd), two properties the studio hopes will continue to bear box-office fruit.  But before Catching Fire can sweep Ender’s Game aside, the sci-fi film will have three weeks to build up a big payday and, hopefully, a bigger following.  Hit the jump for more updates on Ender’s Game from the film’s production blog.

You’re driving down the street, and it’s suddenly blocked off.  You notice these weird yellow signs with nonsensical letters or numbers.  There’s unusual glow lighting up a neighborhood you can’t usually see from your house.  What you might have here is a film company shooting in your town.  It happens a lot, and you never know where they might pop up…until now.

The following is a semi-comprehensive list of films currently shooting, what they’re shooting, and where they’re shooting.  We’ll be telling you where you might get to see the very famous, the kinda famous and (if all goes well) the soon-to-be famous. While we can’t list every single movie, television show, or student film in production, you’ll get a pretty good idea of what the heck is going on where all those people are buzzing about.  Want to know where in the world are Matt Damon, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, Woody Harrelson, and Leonardo DiCaprio? ENDER’S GAME Updates from Producer Roberto Orci; Talks About Kubrick Influence, Favorite Scene, Zero G Battles and More

Harrison Ford reportedly called Ender’s Game, “one of the most emotional science fiction movies he has ever seen.”  If you’re a fan of Orson Scott Card’s award-winning novel, this article should let you breathe a little easier about the upcoming Gavin Hood adaptation.  While I was a bit leery about Hood’s attachment to my beloved property (see X-Men Origins: Wolverine), the Ender’s Game production blog has been shedding some interesting light on the filmmaker’s approach.  Hood and producer Roberto Orci (Star Trek) really seem to get the gist of the novel; that should elicit a sigh of relief followed quickly by a jolt of excitement from fans.  Orci recently participated in a Q&A on the blog in which he commented on the tone of the picture, the relationship between Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and Ender (Asa Butterfield), as well as his favorite scenes.

Ender’s Game tells the story of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, a young boy sent away to Battle School to hone his military skills and, hopefully, save the world from an impending alien invasion.  Also starring Abigail Breslin, Sir Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Nonso Anozie and Viola Davis, the picture opens November 1st, 2013.  We’ve also got some images from the production, so hit the jump to check it out!
