Thursday’s TV ratings are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• Following last week’s series low numbers, NBC’s Parks and Recreation ticked up a notch to a 1.5 rating and 3.28 million viewers over last week’s 1.4 rating.
• ABC’s soap Scandal earned a season high 2.5 rating and a series high 7.39 million viewers, up over last week’s 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demo.
• On the flip side, Grey’s Anatomy tied its season low 3.0 rating and 8.9 million viewers, dropping from last week’s 3.1 rating.

• Fans were eager to see Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon tie the knot, as the wedding-centric episode of 30 Rock scored a 1.3 rating and 3.61 million viewers, up 8% from its last original episode’s 1.2 rating.
• ABC’s soap Scandal bounced back with a season high 2.2 rating and 6.67 million viewers, up 10% from its last new episode’s 2.0 rating.
• Sadly, Parks and Recreation dropped to a series low 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.04 million viewers.  That’s down 18% from its last new episode’s 1.7 rating.
• Also hitting a series low was The Office with a 1.9 rating and 3.89 million viewers, dropping 10% from its last original episode’s 2.1 rating.

• The CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory had a great night, as it hit an all-time high of 17.4 million viewers and a rating of 5.5 in the 18-49 demo, up 8% from last week’s 5.1 rating.  It’s an impressive feat scoring an all-time high at this stage, as the veteran series is in its sixth season on the air.
• Also scoring a high was the CBS drama Person of Interest, which had its highest rated episode of the season thus far with a 3.1 rating and 14.5 million viewers.  That’s up 7% from last week’s 2.9 rating.
• Over at Fox, the drama-comedy Glee dipped 13% to a 2.1 rating and 5.28 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.4 rating.

• Fresh off the news that CBS will air the new series Elementary directly after the Super Bowl, the Sherlock Holmes update hit a series low 2.2 rating and 10.73 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.4 rating.
• On the flipside, Two and a Half Men matched its season high with a 4.0 rating and 14.09 million viewers, up quite a bit from last week’s 3.6 rating.
• Good news for fans of ABC’s new series Last Resort, as the show was up to a 1.4 rating and 5.95 million viewers, a rise over last week’s 1.3 rating.

• ABC’s Last Resort hit a series low with a 1.3 rating, down 0.4 from last week, and 6.4 million viewers.
• CBS’s Big Bang Theory won the night with a 4.8 rating and 15.4 million viewers, staying even with last week.
• Two and a Half Men dropped three-tenths to a 3.7 rating after last week’s episode starring Miley Cyrus reached a season high.
• Game 2 of the World Series on FOX earned a 2.9 among adults 18-49, but will likely be adjusted.

• Thanks to a guest starring turn by Miley Cyrus, CBS comedy Two and a Half Men hit a season high with a 4.0 rating and 13.6 million viewers.  That’s up 14% from last week’s 3.5 rating.
• NBC comedy Up All Night scored a big gain, earning a 1.4 rating and 3.2 million viewers.  That’s up a whopping 27% from last week’s 1.1 rating.
• CBS’ other big Thursday comedy The Big Bang Theory was also up, earning a 4.7 rating and 15.4 million viewers making it the highest rated and most watched show of the night.
• Sadly, a top-notch episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation was down 16% from last week with a 1.6 rating and 3.4 million viewers, tying its series low.

There was quite a bit of movement for last night’s programming.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• Despite what looks to be a creative upswing, the final season of 30 Rock kicked off with a bit of a whimper as the season seven premiere netted a 1.3 demo rating and 3.40 million viewers.
• While the majority of NBC’s comedies are still struggling, the swell Parks and Recreation saw an uptick last night of 19% as it scored a 1.9 rating and 3.5 million viewers.
• The Americanized Sherlock Holmes series Elementary dipped a bit from its series premiere, garnering a 2.6 rating and 11.2 million viewers versus last week’s 3.1 rating.
• Bad news again for ABC’s excellent new drama series Last Resort, as the show was down from its disappointing series premiere numbers with a 1.8 rating and 7.87 million viewers.

The Fall 2012 TV season began in earnest this week, with most shows having their series/season premieres.  Here’s a brief glance at the highlights:

• CBS’ Sherlock Holmes update Elementary debuted strong with a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo for 13.41 million viewers.
• Also at CBS, The Big Bang Theory scored its highest rated season premiere ever with a 5.0 rating and a solid 15.66 million viewers.
• Things weren’t all rosy at The Eye, however, as Hawaii Five-0 was way down with a 1.8 rating.  That’s a significant drop from last year’s season premiere rating of 3.4 in the coveted 18-49 demo.
• NBC’s J.J. Abrams-produced drama Revolution saw an unsurprising drop in viewers from last week’s season premiere, though the 3.4 rating with 9.21 million viewers shows a healthy hold from last week’s 4.1 rating.
• Unfortunately, ABC’s excellent pilot for Last Resort debuted to a slightly disappointing 2.2 rating with 9.31 million viewers.

ABC has finally put the finishing touches on their Fall 2012 lineup and announced premiere dates for new and returning series.  It seems like just yesterday we were saying our goodbyes to the network shows for the summer, with the intensity of Breaking Bad and the silliness of True Blood keeping us company until the fall season, but it’s about time to start looking to the Fall 2012 TV lineup.

Fan favorites like Modern Family, Revenge, and Once Upon a Time will premiere in the normal late-September slot, but we’ll have to wait until October for the return of Happy Endings and Suburgatory.  For my money, the most promising new show on ABC’s schedule is the Connie Britton-fronted drama Nashville, which premieres on October 10th.  Body of Proof, Wife Swap, and new shows Red Widow and Zero Hour are being held until midseason. Upfronts Day 3: Commence! Over the last two days, we’ve seen the new fall 2012 schedules for NBC and Fox, as well as trailers for some of the new series that those networks will be offering.  Today it’s ABC’s turn, and their new schedule has a couple of change-ups for returning series.  The fan-favorite drama Revenge has taken over Desperate Housewives’ Sunday night spot (if you weren’t aware, DH had its series finale this past weekend), and the comedies Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23 will be moving to Tuesday nights.

Tuesday is fast becoming the new comedy night, as NBC has set their two most high profile new comedies—The New Normal and Go On—for Tuesday, and that night is currently host to Fox’s all-comedy block that includes New Girl and Mindy Kaling’s The Mindy Project.  In other words, you’re probably gonna have to do some in-depth DVR scheduling.  Hit the jump to check out the full ABC schedule.  We’ll have trailers for the new series up once they’re available.

Good news has arrived for three freshman series and four running series over at ABC. Following in the footsteps of Fox’s housecleaning and pick-ups and NBC’s slew of renewals including a fourth season for Community and a final season for 30 Rock (hopefully what should be the final season for The Office too), ABC has decided to renew seven series across the board that will please a variety of fans. TV by the Numbers has news on the renewals, and on the comedy side of things, Modern Family, The Middle and Suburgatory have all been renewed, while new dramas Once Upon a Time and Revenge will also get a second season. Finally, older series Castle and Grey’s Anatomy will also get another season, even if the latter medical drama has overstayed its welcome and jumped the shark for a couple years now.  Hit the jump for more, including my thoughts on the renewals and the ABC series that have yet to get an official order.

As part of the network’s TCA Press Tour presentation, President of ABC Entertainment Group, Paul Lee, took some time to talk about where things stand with some of their popular and long-running series, how some of their freshman series were received, and their hopes for some of their upcoming programs.

Lee said that the horror thriller The River (premiering on February 7^th) is set for only eight episodes, but there is the plan to have it be a long-running series. He is also thrilled with the performance of Once Upon A Time, is optimistic about the future of Pan Am, and said that while they made a good attempt, he doesn’t think they quite breathed life into the Charlie’s Angels franchise through the recent series. And, while he has high hopes for how Cougar Town will play when it returns, Lee is still unsure of when exactly that return will be. Check out what he had to say about all the series after the jump:

This week ABC is revealing their premiere dates for the new and returning series for the 2011-2012 season kicking off in September, and plenty of fan favorites are returning in a big way. Comedy series like The Middle and Modern Family are getting special one-hour premieres while Grey’s Anatomy gets a whopping two-hour premiere episode. In addition, after the jump you’ll find out the premiere dates for new series like the remake of Charlie’s Angels, the period drama Pan Am, Tim Allen’s return to TV in Last Man Standing the fairytale drama Once Upon a Time and more. The 2010-2011 season of TV is just now nearing the halfway point, but ABC has decided to preemptively pick up six of their successful series for another season. Today, via press release, the network announced the crime drama Castle, the half-hour comedy Modern Family, the sex comedy Cougar Town, the sitcom The Middle and the medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice will all be around in the fall another season. Frankly, the only series I’m glad to have returning is Modern Family, which has quickly become one of the best comedies on TV. How about you?

The events that occurred in last season’s explosive finale of ABC’s hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy will certainly have an emotional impact on all of the characters’ lives. After a shooting at Seattle Grace Hospital that resulted in the deaths of two doctors, Season 7 will explore how everyone has been changed by the trauma, both personally and professionally.

In Season 7, Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) will pretty much be starting over, as even his home life will be changing, due to Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) opening her home to the doctors who lost their friends and roommates in the shoot-out. During a recent interview, actor Jesse Williams talked about what an honor it is to officially be a series regular this season, how bittersweet it was to lose some of his co-stars last season, and his initial reaction when he realized that anyone could be expendable on the show.

He also talked about how much fun he had filming The Cabin in the Woods with Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon, and that he hopes it will be released sometime soon. Check out what he had to say after the jump:
