We have some new images pulled from the latest trailer for director J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. This time around, we get a great look at individual shots of the principal cast members, as well as some clean pictures of the USS Enterprise’s interiors alongside alien worlds. The images also raise a few questions concerning the plot, such as: why is Noel Clarke’s character crying and dropping a ring into a glass, and why is Alice Eve screaming so much?

Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Bruce Greenwood, Star Trek Into Darkness opens May 17, 2013. Hit the jump to scope out the new images.

A new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness has gone online.  Unlike the previous teaser, this one is far more melancholy as we hear Pike (Bruce Greenwood) tells Kirk, “There’s greatness in you, but not an ounce of humility.  But there’s going to come a moment when you’re wrong about that.  And you’re going to get yourself, and everyone under your command, killed.”  From there, we see the epic action director J.J. Abrams is going to unleash.  Details on the story are still scarce, but a teaser trailers never give those away.  They’re meant to entice, and this new trailer is even better than the first one.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film also stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, and Noel ClarkeStar Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D on May 17, 2013. You’ve seen the announcement trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness and you want more.  You’re clicking to see if there’s any way you can still get tickets to IMAX screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey because they’ll show the first 9 minutes of the movie.  You’re building a time machine to jump forward to December 17th when another trailer will launch.  For now, you can enjoy 15 more seconds of footage from the upcoming flick.  No, it doesn’t tell you the name of the villain, because that would ruin the entire picture (apparently).  But it does have a bit of a callback to the most popular Star Trek film ever made.

Hit the jump to check out the Japanese trailer, which contains 15 more seconds of footage.  The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch.  Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D and IMAX on May 17th, 2013.

First Trailer for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Plus 25 Images from the Trailer

The first trailer for director J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness has been released.  Benedict Cumberbatch takes control from the get-go with a narration over a sequence of increasingly dramatic scenes. The rest of the crew get a few seconds of face-time apiece, but action, destruction and Cumberbatch rule over this trailer. While there are no glimpses of space shown, there appears to be at least three separate terrains to keep our heroes busy. And it looks as if someone has lost control of the Starship Enterprise…

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller and Noel Clarke.  Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D and IMAX on May 17th, 2013.

HAROLD & KUMAR Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

It’s hard to blame the movies themselves for the less-than-ultimate “ultimate collection” containing them. That goes double for Harold & Kumar , the Cheech and Chong of the 21st century, whose amiable stoner antics don’t invite the sort of double-dipping this set was meant for. The movies are fine… only the packaging leaves something to be desired. Hit the jump for my full review of the Blu-ray featuring Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.

With all this recent Star Wars news flying around, the fans of Star Trek finally have something new to celebrate. This first poster for Paramount’s sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, features a familiar symbol shaped by the destruction of surrounding buildings, with a mysterious dark figure standing upon a pile of rubble. Could this be the “one man weapon” the synopsis foretells?

Hit the jump to see the poster.  Directed by J.J. Abrams, the film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch.  Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 17, 2013.

First Trailer and Images for IDENTITY THIEF Starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy

The first trailer for the comedy Identity Thief has been released.  Directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), the movie stars Jason Bateman as an accounts rep who has a week to travel across the country and track down the con artist (Melissa McCarthy) who stole his identity.  Horrible Bosses was a fantastic surprise last year and the pairing of Bateman and McCarthy sounds great, but this trailer is a tad disappointing.  Many of the jokes hinge on physical comedy, so hopefully they’re saving the dialogue-driven stuff for the full film. The caliber of talent involved is promising and McCarthy looks to have put together quite the character, so I’m still eager to see more.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer and to check out some images.  The film also stars Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Genesis Rodriguez, Morris Chestnut, John Cho, Robert Patrick, and Eric StonestreetIdentity Thief opens February 8, 2013.

J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK Sequel Titled STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

Though production wrapped a few months ago, director J.J. Abramssequel to his stellar 2009 reboot Star Trek has been unsurprisingly shrouded in a heavy veil of secrecy.  We know literally nothing about the plot, we haven’t seen any official images, and we still don’t know for sure what baddie Benedict Cumberbatch is playing.  With the film’s May release date looming closer and the holiday movie season getting ready to begin, we’re likely to have a better idea of what to expect fairly soon.

It’s fitting that today, the 46th anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series, we get our first big major reveal from the film: it’s title.  Apparently Abrams’ heretofore-untitled Star Trek sequel will hit theaters as a colonless Star Trek Into Darkness.  Hit the jump for more.

Chris Pine Says STAR TREK 2 Will Have Comedic Elements, But the Crew Will Face a Greater Threat

While Chris Pine is currently shooting Jack Ryan in downtown Manhattan (you can see images of him and Kevin Costner here), he recently spoke out about the tone of Star Trek 2.  Specifically, Pine was quick to mention that the J.J. Abrams sequel doesn’t follow the rules set down by Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, which says a follow-up film should be “like the original, only darker.”  As the first Star Trek had its lighter moments (Pine’s Kirk having an allergic reaction and being repeatedly injected by Bones), the sequel appears to keep the comedic element amidst a greater threat to Starfleet.

Also starring Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch, Star Trek 2 opens May 17th, 2013.  Hit the jump to read what Pine had to say.

TOTAL RECALL Unleashes a New Clip [Updated with New Posters and Featurette]

With director Len Wiseman’s Total Recall reboot less than a month away, a new clip has popped up online.  Unfortunately, the clip just rehashes the same extended action sequence we’ve seen in the trailerColin Farrell stars as Douglas Quaid, a man who is bored with his life and seeks to have adventurous memories implanted in his brain.  In the clip, we watch as Farrell’s plans go awry and he goes all Jason Bourne on a number of faceless federal police. It’s much less sexy than Farrell vs co-star Kate Beckinsale, which we saw in this earlier clip.  The only thing tempting me to see the movie at this point is some Beckinsale vs Jessica Biel action.  Total Recall, also starring Bill Nighy, John Cho and Bryan Cranston, debuts August 3rd.  Hit the jump to watch the new(ish) clip.

While you may have to wait a while to find out who the antagonist is in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek sequel, Star Trek the video game has put its villains front and center.  The Gorn, a lizard-like race of alien warriors Hell-bent on conquering the galaxy, will terrorize Captain James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock in the Paramount Pictures and Namco Bandai game.  The cast of Star Trek, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin will lend their voices to the game.  The standalone co-op is based on Abrams’ original Star Trek and continues the adventures of the iconic heroes.  Players will control Kirk and Spock as they traverse across unexplored planets and alien battleships in an attempt to stop the Gorn in an original story written by BAFTA award-winner, Marianne Krawczyk (God of War) with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.  Plenty of new images and concept art await you, along with the fully detailed press release, after the jump.  As this announcement was made as part of the ongoing Electronic Entertainment Expo, catch up on all of our previous coverage of E3 here.

You’re driving down the street, and it’s suddenly blocked off.  You notice these weird yellow signs with nonsensical letters or numbers.  There’s unusual glow lighting up a neighborhood you can’t usually see from your house.  What you might have here is a film company shooting in your town.  It happens a lot, and you never know where they might pop up…until now.

The following is a semi-comprehensive list of films currently shooting, what they’re shooting, and where they’re shooting.  We’ll be telling you where you might get to see the very famous, the kinda famous and (if all goes well) the soon-to-be famous. While we can’t list every single movie, television show, or student film in production, you’ll get a pretty good idea of what the heck is going on where all those people are buzzing about.  Want to know where in the world are Matt Damon, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, Woody Harrelson, and Leonardo DiCaprio? The future of Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s weird older brother, just got a little bit clearer, as the cable network has announced a bevy of new pilots that will compete for a schedule spot in 2012-2013. The most prominent of the bunch are an untitled animated continuation of the pot-fueled adventures of Harold & Kumar and Rick & Morty, a comedy from Community creator, Dan Harmon. The former is being scripted by franchise writers (and directors of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg and will see stars John Cho and Kal Penn giving voice to animated versions of themselves. Rick & Morty, meanwhile, follows the adventures of an inventor and his dimwitted grandson. Hit the jump for more.

STAR TREK 2 Stars Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg Tweet Picture Wrap

If we can trust the Tweet, then Star Trek 2 and Zachary Quinto have officially wrapped.  Quinto sent out an image and a brief message over Twitter today that would suggest the follow up to J.J. Abrams‘ 2009 Star Trek has wrapped.  After these set photos and video initially leaked earlier this year, we haven’t see a whole lot out of the Starfleet camp (here’s a hat).  Quinto stays the course with this Tweet, as far as images go, but it’s good to know the production has wrapped up.  Maybe now we can get an official title.  The Untitled Star Trek Sequel, starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch. , opens May 17th, 2013.  Hit the jump to see the image along with a recap of what we know about the sequel.
