A new featurette for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus has gone online. While I don’t think the three-minute trailer laid out any major spoilers, I feel like we’re getting to the advertising-spoils-everything point, so I’m going dark on the movie. I can’t tell you what’s in this new featurette except that it’s entitled “Origins”.
Hit the jump to check out the featurette. As we reported earlier this week, the film will be Rated-R for “sci-fi violence including some intense images, and brief language.” The movie stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce, and Charlize Theron. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8th.

On the heels of last night’s new trailer (which is loaded with new footage), Fox has released a new featurette for Ridley Scott’s return to sci-fi, Prometheus. There are bits and pieces of new footage scattered throughout the clip, interspersed with interviews featuring some of the cast, Scott, and screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts. I was already sold on this film a long time ago so I’m trying to stay away from a ton of new footage, but Fox seems to be shedding a lot more light on what’s in store for us come June and they’re making it very hard to stay in the dark. That said, if you’re still not convinced that Prometheus is worth checking out or don’t care about seeing new footage, then this clip is worth a gander.

Prometheus hasn’t landed yet, but a new three-minute trailer has. It shows a ton of new footage (which may be on the spoilery side) and emphasizes Charlize Theron’s character, Meredith Vickers. Vickers comes across like a female version of Stephen Lang’s Colonel in Avatar and clearly has a seedy agenda (which is blatantly called out in a spat of coarse dialogue). The trailer plays as a mini-movie of sorts, a condensed version of what we can expect when the full theatrical release hits theaters on June 8th. Get caught up on all of our previous coverage here, including images, featurettes, posters, what the film will be rated and the ongoing viral marketing campaign. Directed by Ridley Scott, Prometheus also stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Guy Pearce. Hit the jump to check out the awesome new trailer.

A new featurette for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has landed online. The sci-fi pic is one of the most anticipated films of the year, so I doubt many of you need further convincing to check it out opening weekend. That said, this new featurette is a nice treat for fans anxiously awaiting Scott’s return to the horror/sci-fi genre. Scott himself is featured prominently in the clip, as we get bunch of glimpses at scenes being filmed intercut with finished footage. Also of note, Scott is seen wearing 3D glasses while watching playback. He spoke glowingly of the 3D format last year at Comic-Con and I’m hoping to see something truly special when Prometheus hits theaters, akin to Martin Scorsese’s beautiful use of 3D in Hugo.
Hit the jump to watch the featurette. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8th.

The marketing machine for director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is really cranking up: just yesterday we brought you this fantastic ad and poster for David 8, the human-looking android (played by Michael Fassbender) who is a product of the Weyland Corporation (headed by Guy Pearce). But it seems that David 8 is not the only machine roving around the universe in Prometheus and these new viral posters serve to introduce you to some of the others. No, there are no more androids, but fans of these schematics of the explorer ship Prometheus should enjoy these new images equally as much. Prometheus also stars Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron, and opens in 3D on June 8th. Hit the jump to check out the new posters as well as a recap of our previous coverage.

As one of our most anticipated movies of the quarter, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is standing strong for sci-fi in a year that is dominated by superhero fare. While you can check out the trailers, viral marketing and a host of images for the film, Scott recently commented on a few details of Prometheus regarding its run-time and his director’s cut. Although he’s known for his support of director’s cut releases on DVD/Blu-ray – notably Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heaven and Legend – Scott has said that:
“The cut that you’re gonna see in cinemas…it’s always the director’s cut, really.”
Whether that quote still stands once Prometheus hits the store shelves remains to be seen. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron and opens on June 8th. Hit the jump to read more about what Scott had to say.

While your news feed might be buried by all things The Avengers at the moment, lest we forget a little sci-fi flick that’s coming out in June called Prometheus. It’s been about 36 hours since we last updated you, so I think it’s time to remind you about the film with some new images. These come from a mini-game called “Prometheus Mission Connect” and reveal quite a detailed look at the interiors and exteriors of the exploratory ship. Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris and Logan Marshall-Green and opens in 3D on June 8th. Hit the jump to check out the images and for information on how you can win a trip to visit the site where director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus was filmed, Pinewood Studios in London.

Remember when we didn’t even know next to nothing about Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus? Well, those days are gone. Five new images have gone online, and at this rate, you’ll probably be able to piece together the entire movie from stills, trailers, and TV spots before the release date. It’s an important reminder that for all of the secrecy swirling around a picture during its pre-production and shooting stages, a studio will eventually show almost all of a movie’s cards before opening day. We haven’t quite reached that point with Prometheus, and none of these images are spoiler-y (at least I don’t think they are; I haven’t read the script), but we’re getting there.

A healthy batch of new images from Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has arrived online. Not only do we get a nice look at all the actors, but we also get a few official set photos featuring Scott and his 3D RED Epic camera. We’ve seen a few of these images before, but this group of photos is all high quality. I continue to be unreasonably excited for this film, and this new crop of images is a nice primer for those savoring every last bit of material they can get from the film until it hits theaters.

Prometheus is continuing its full-scale marketing push even though the film doesn’t open for over two months. After several trailers and TV spots, Ridley Scott‘s sci-fi horror film is the cover story in the latest issue of Empire magazine. The story provides new images from the movie along with details on the plot and characters. Reading these details is the tipping point for me, and I’m going to try and keep myself in the dark as much as possible on this movie. I know that it involves scientists and astronauts seeking out an ancient extraterrestrial race, and then bad things happen. Good enough for me.
Hit the jump to check out the magazine scans, which contain info on the plot and characters, and to read Scott’s comments on the rating of the film. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8th.

A new TV spot for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has landed. The 30-second clip does a great job of selling the sci-fi pic to general audiences, as it touts Scott’s filmography and highlights the story, horror, and action. Us fanboys in the know are already head over heels for this thing, and I think this TV spot does a great job of hyping up anticipation for those unaware that a semi Alien prequel was on the way. The spot isn’t without merit for those in the know, as it does include a bit of new footage to tide us over for the time-being.

In case you didn’t quite get your fill of Prometheus from two domestic trailers, three international trailers, a live chat with Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, an android-unboxing viral campaign video, panel coverage and an interview from WonderCon, the first TV spot for Ridley Scott’s film has gone online to put the cherry on top of this very fine Prometheus weekend. It does a swell job of selling the premise in 30 seconds, and gives us a nice look at the space jockey.
Hit the jump to check out the TV spot. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Michael Fassbender. Prometheus opens in IMAX 3D on June 8th. [Update: It's been brought to our attention that the TV spot is actually fanmade. In that case, kudos to whoever put this together]

As of this posting, this weekend on Collider has featured two trailers for Prometheus on this site, not to mention a live chat with Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, a viral campaign report, and panel coverage and an interview from WonderCon. I’ll add three international trailers to the pile with plenty of new footage. I believe these three new trailers are identical except for the language, but the UK, Italian, and Spanish versions are all after the jump if you want to vet for yourself.
Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, and Michael Fassbender star in the Alien prequel. Prometheus opens on June 8.

A new trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus has gone online, and it’s pretty damn great. It succinctly tells you the story, and then provides what I really hope Scott has gone for: a blockbuster sci-fi horror film. Today, sci-fi horror has to stick to a mid-range budget, but I’m loving the scope of what I’m seeing from this trailer. However, the best part may be at the very end when Michael Fassbender‘s character, an android (click here for the viral video released earlier today), gives just the slightest vibe of Ash (Ian Holm) from Alien. For those unfamiliar with the connection, Prometheus isn’t a direct sequel to Alien, but it has that film’s “DNA”. When you see the trailer, the connection will be abundantly clear.
Hit the jump to check out the full trailer, and click here to see the IMAX version that was also release today. Also be on the lookout for our coverage of the movie’s panel, which was held today at WonderCon in Anaheim, California. The film also stars Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8th.
