Thursday’s TV ratings are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• Following last week’s series low numbers, NBC’s Parks and Recreation ticked up a notch to a 1.5 rating and 3.28 million viewers over last week’s 1.4 rating.
• ABC’s soap Scandal earned a season high 2.5 rating and a series high 7.39 million viewers, up over last week’s 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demo.
• On the flip side, Grey’s Anatomy tied its season low 3.0 rating and 8.9 million viewers, dropping from last week’s 3.1 rating.

• Fans were eager to see Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon tie the knot, as the wedding-centric episode of 30 Rock scored a 1.3 rating and 3.61 million viewers, up 8% from its last original episode’s 1.2 rating.
• ABC’s soap Scandal bounced back with a season high 2.2 rating and 6.67 million viewers, up 10% from its last new episode’s 2.0 rating.
• Sadly, Parks and Recreation dropped to a series low 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.04 million viewers.  That’s down 18% from its last new episode’s 1.7 rating.
• Also hitting a series low was The Office with a 1.9 rating and 3.89 million viewers, dropping 10% from its last original episode’s 2.1 rating.

• The CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory had a great night, as it hit an all-time high of 17.4 million viewers and a rating of 5.5 in the 18-49 demo, up 8% from last week’s 5.1 rating.  It’s an impressive feat scoring an all-time high at this stage, as the veteran series is in its sixth season on the air.
• Also scoring a high was the CBS drama Person of Interest, which had its highest rated episode of the season thus far with a 3.1 rating and 14.5 million viewers.  That’s up 7% from last week’s 2.9 rating.
• Over at Fox, the drama-comedy Glee dipped 13% to a 2.1 rating and 5.28 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.4 rating.

• Fresh off the news that CBS will air the new series Elementary directly after the Super Bowl, the Sherlock Holmes update hit a series low 2.2 rating and 10.73 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.4 rating.
• On the flipside, Two and a Half Men matched its season high with a 4.0 rating and 14.09 million viewers, up quite a bit from last week’s 3.6 rating.
• Good news for fans of ABC’s new series Last Resort, as the show was up to a 1.4 rating and 5.95 million viewers, a rise over last week’s 1.3 rating.

The TV ratings for Thursday night’s programming are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• CBS’ Sherlock Holmes procedural Elementary was up 9% from last week, earning a 2.4 rating and 10.5 million viewers versus last week’s 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demo.
• The CW’s The Vampire Diaries was up double digits, garnering a 1.5 rating and 3.17 million viewers.  That’s a rise of 15% from last week’s 1.3 rating.
• Comedy favorite The Big Bang Theory looks to have earned a season high 5.1 rating and 15.65 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s 2.0 rating.
• Thursday’s broadcast of the Country Music Awards hit all-time low numbers with a 3.8 rating and 13.6 million viewers.

• ABC’s Last Resort hit a series low with a 1.3 rating, down 0.4 from last week, and 6.4 million viewers.
• CBS’s Big Bang Theory won the night with a 4.8 rating and 15.4 million viewers, staying even with last week.
• Two and a Half Men dropped three-tenths to a 3.7 rating after last week’s episode starring Miley Cyrus reached a season high.
• Game 2 of the World Series on FOX earned a 2.9 among adults 18-49, but will likely be adjusted.

• Thanks to a guest starring turn by Miley Cyrus, CBS comedy Two and a Half Men hit a season high with a 4.0 rating and 13.6 million viewers.  That’s up 14% from last week’s 3.5 rating.
• NBC comedy Up All Night scored a big gain, earning a 1.4 rating and 3.2 million viewers.  That’s up a whopping 27% from last week’s 1.1 rating.
• CBS’ other big Thursday comedy The Big Bang Theory was also up, earning a 4.7 rating and 15.4 million viewers making it the highest rated and most watched show of the night.
• Sadly, a top-notch episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation was down 16% from last week with a 1.6 rating and 3.4 million viewers, tying its series low.

There was quite a bit of movement for last night’s programming.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• Despite what looks to be a creative upswing, the final season of 30 Rock kicked off with a bit of a whimper as the season seven premiere netted a 1.3 demo rating and 3.40 million viewers.
• While the majority of NBC’s comedies are still struggling, the swell Parks and Recreation saw an uptick last night of 19% as it scored a 1.9 rating and 3.5 million viewers.
• The Americanized Sherlock Holmes series Elementary dipped a bit from its series premiere, garnering a 2.6 rating and 11.2 million viewers versus last week’s 3.1 rating.
• Bad news again for ABC’s excellent new drama series Last Resort, as the show was down from its disappointing series premiere numbers with a 1.8 rating and 7.87 million viewers.

The Fall 2012 TV season began in earnest this week, with most shows having their series/season premieres.  Here’s a brief glance at the highlights:

• CBS’ Sherlock Holmes update Elementary debuted strong with a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo for 13.41 million viewers.
• Also at CBS, The Big Bang Theory scored its highest rated season premiere ever with a 5.0 rating and a solid 15.66 million viewers.
• Things weren’t all rosy at The Eye, however, as Hawaii Five-0 was way down with a 1.8 rating.  That’s a significant drop from last year’s season premiere rating of 3.4 in the coveted 18-49 demo.
• NBC’s J.J. Abrams-produced drama Revolution saw an unsurprising drop in viewers from last week’s season premiere, though the 3.4 rating with 9.21 million viewers shows a healthy hold from last week’s 4.1 rating.
• Unfortunately, ABC’s excellent pilot for Last Resort debuted to a slightly disappointing 2.2 rating with 9.31 million viewers.

Person of Interest is one of the biggest hits to premiere last year.  The show centers the partnership between John Reese (Jim Caviezel), an ex-CIA operative, and the mysterious, millionaire computer engineer Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) who develops a machine that can predict crimes.  After a cliffhanger season finale, the second season will premiere September 27^th on CBS.  We sat down with series creator/producer/writer Jonathan Nolan, series writer Greg Plageman and cast members Caviezel, Emerson, Taraji P. With Comic-Con 2012 just around the corner, word is starting to leak out about what movies and TV shows will/won’t be making an appearance.  We have a good idea of the film panel slate in Hall H, and now official word regarding TV panels is trickling down.  As a quick reference guide, we’ve rounded up the TV panels that have been confirmed thus far in one easy article.  Briefly:

With the summer movie season in full-swing, it’s time to start looking towards this year’s Comic-Con.  We’ve still got a little over a month to go before Geek Fest 2012, but Warner Bros. Television has gotten a head start on the festivities and announced their slate of TV panels.  Appearances have been announced for Nikita, Person of Interest, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Childrens Hospital, and new series like Arrow, The Following, 666 Park Avenue, Revolution, and Cult.  Furthermore, panels for Supernatural, Fringe and The Big Bang Theory will be taking place in the coveted Hall H this year.  Interestingly, The Big Bang Theory‘s Hall H panel takes place on Friday when TV has been previously held exclusively on Sunday in Hall H.

Fans will also get a chance to screen the pilot for The CW’s Green Arrow series Arrow, executive producer J.J. The upfronts are nearing an end, and we’ve already seen the new schedules from NBC, Fox, and ABC.  Now it’s CBS’s turn.  The readers of this site may not exactly be CBS’s target demo—though I’m still watching and enjoying How I Met Your Mother—but The Eye is hoping to change that with a few promising new series slated for this fall.  Shifts for returning series include moving the Ashton Kutcher-enhanced Two and a Half Men to Thursdays, while The Mentalist (which is probably your parents’ favorite show) will now air on Sunday.  Also, the young-skewing comedy 2 Broke Girls has been pushed back to the prime 9pm slot on Mondays after doing well at 8:30.  Moreover, I’m now aware that a show unironically called Crimetime Saturday exists.

As far as new series go, I’m really only keeping my eye on Elementary at this point.  I didn’t really find the need for a new Sherlock Holmes series given that we already have the beyond excellent Sherlock (and, to a lesser extent, House), but I’m willing to check out this new drama (starring Jonny Lee Miller as Holmes and Lucy Liu as Watson) to see what they’ve come up with.  Hit the jump to check out CBS’s schedule.

The crime drama Meeting Evil, (currently available through Magnolia Ultra VOD here prior to the film’s theatrical release on May 4^th) follows John (Luke Wilson), a depressed suburban family man and recently fired realtor, who offers to help a stranger named Richie (Samuel L. Jackson) with his car. Upon doing so, John is quickly sucked into a nightmarish murder spree that forces him to go to any length he can to protect his family.

During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, writer/director Chris Fisher talked about how this project came about, why it was important that the characters live in a grey area, what led him to Luke Wilson as the lead, and how intimidating Samuel L. Jackson’s professionalism is.  He also talked about being the producing director on the Syfy series Warehouse 13 (he’s directing six of the 20 episodes for the next season), how he’s going to direct a couple episodes for Season 2 of Person of Interest, and how he would sell his soul to direct an episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones.  Check out what he had to say after the jump:

The comedy Think Like A Man, out in theaters on April 20^th, is about a group of friends who have their love lives shaken up, after the women they are pursuing buy Steve Harvey’s best-selling book (that the film is inspired by) and start taking his advice to heart. When they realize that they have been betrayed by one of their own, they conspire to use the book’s teachings to turn the tables. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Romany Malco and Gabrielle Union.

During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, actress Taraji P. Henson talked about how she came to be a part of Think Like A Man, what drew her to the character of Lauren, how it was a character that she could easily identify with and relate to, getting to work with co-star Michael Ealy, how she didn’t really do any ad-libbing in the film, and why she loves working with director Tim Story. She also talked about what she thinks of the direction that her CBS drama series Person of Interest is taking and how she can’t wait to learn more about her character’s backstory, and going straight into shooting the feature film No Good Deed (the day after POI wraps for the season on April 23^rd) with Idris Elba, in which she plays an ex-district attorney who gives up her life to be a stay-at-home mom, only to have a dangerous man show up at her door.
