It has been rumored for months that Grammy-winning artist Adele would perform the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall. Today, Showbiz411 confirms she has the gig, and the song will probably be called “Skyfall” (as opposed to “Another Way to Die” being the song from Quantum of Solace). Adele will likely write the song as well. It will be the English singer-songwriter’s first single since her last album, 21. I’m curious to see where her song will rank among Bond themes. Probably higher than “Die Another Day”.
In other Skyfall news, new posters and banners have been released for the film, and you can check them out after the jump. Skyfall opens October 26th in the UK, November 9th in the US, and stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Berenice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes.

We can now confirm what we reported yesterday, that Daniel Craig will return for the next two James Bond films. Craig will star in the 24th and 25th installments, making him the third-longest tenured actor to play Bond (after Sean Connery and Roger Moore). Deadline also confirms that Sony Pictures will also return to co-finance those two films, as it has with Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and the upcoming Sam Mendes picture, Skyfall. Speaking of Skyfall, we’ve got new word on just how long the film will run along with a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the opening sequence. Hit the jump for all of that and more!

A new clip from Mike Newell‘s Great Expectations has gone online. The upcoming adaptation of Charles Dickens‘ novel stars Jeremy Irvine as Pip, a young man who comes into a fortune, but whose heart is continually broken by Estella (Holliday Grainger), who was taught to do so by her pathetic mother Miss Haversham (Helena Bonham Carter). In this clip, we see an uneasy reunion between Pip and the escaped convict, Magwitch (Ralph Fiennes). Like the trailer, this clip makes me wonder what Newell is doing to make his adaptation of Great Expectation standout other than hire talented actors to play the parts.

The first international trailer has debuted for Mike Newell’s Great Expectations. The adaptation of Charles Dickens’ literary classic will make its world premiere at TIFF this September, but the trailer gives quite an extensive look at the film. Great Expectations stars Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham, Ralph Fiennes as Magwitch, as well as Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Pip, Holliday Grainger (The Borgias) as Estella, with Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter), Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class), and Sally Hawkins (Happy Go Lucky). A full trailer for Skyfall has been released, and it looks like Bond is back in a big way. Anyone who was disappointed by Quantum of Solace (about 90% of the population, myself included), will likely be back on board with director Sam Mendes‘ take on the franchise. The upcoming flick looks like it has everything audiences want from a James Bond picture: style, big set pieces, sex, and more style. Mendes looks like he knows what sets Bond apart from other action stars and taken full advantage of it. If you’ve been let down by the majority of this summer’s action movies, there may be an excellent one this November.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film stars The film stars Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes, and Javier Bardem. Skyfall opens November 9th. [Update: We have now added the equally bad-ass international trailer, which contains footage that's not in the new domestic trailer; specifically, it has a little bit more of Javier Bardem's terrifying villain]

Ah yes, it’s time for yet another teaser for a trailer. In anticipation of the release of the first full trailer for the new James Bond film Skyfall tomorrow morning, a brief teaser for the trailer has been released. Ralph Fiennes delivers a mouthful of dialogue that presumably explains the film’s MacGuffin, and we see a bit of a pretty terrifying stunt involving Bond and a train. I’ve really loved everything we’ve seen from director Sam Mendes entry in the long-running franchise thus far—especially this Olympics TV spot—and I’m hoping the full film delivers the goods.
Hit the jump to watch the teaser for the trailer, and check back here tomorrow morning at 9am EST. The film also stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris. Skyfall opens on November 9th.

Coriolanus is due on Blu-ray and DVD May 29, and to give you a taste, we have been provided a featurette to share. In the clip, director/star Ralph Fiennes comments on his adaptation of the Shakespeare play. Fiennes updated the story to the modern day, but the story remains the same. Things go awry during Coriolanus’ (Fiennes) campaign for the consulate, and he’s kicked out of Rome: “The banished hero then allies himself with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city.” Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jessica Chastain also star. Watch the featurette after the jump.

Sony has released the first teaser trailer for director Sam Mendes’ (American Beauty, Road to Perdition) Skyfall and it looks fantastic. Unlike some trailers that show you everything and leave nothing to the imagination, this teaser trailer is exactly that…a teaser. It’s a perfect first look at Skyfall, and what I love is that we don’t even get see the film’s baddie, Javier Bardem. If you’re the type that likes to stay spoiler free, I promise you can watch it and you won’t be mad that you did. Hit the jump to check it out.
Skyfall also stars Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes.

James Bond had to stay off-duty for four years due to the financial meltdown of MGM, but the franchise found at home at Sony, and then kicked into production on the spy’s next adventure, Skyfall. The studio has no intention of giving 007 another extended vacation, and at CinemaCon yesterday, Rory Bruer, the company’s President of Worldwide Distribution, said the studio is aiming to have Bond 24 hit theaters in late 2014. I would be willing to go a step further and assume the studio would like the film in November 2014 since November has been home to all of the Daniel Craig Bond movies.
Speaking of Craig, his contract will allow him to refuse returning for the next movie. He’s given no indication that he has any plans to leave the franchise, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation, which probably won’t come until after Skyfall is released. Skyfall is due out on November 9th, and the first trailer will be attached to Men in Black 3, which opens on May 25th. Hit the jump for a description of the trailer.

Calling all James Bond fans: some great Skyfall content has hit the web. Not only do we now have eight new images from the latest entry in the James Bond franchise, but a featurette has been posted that features Javier Bardem talking about his villain character. The images have your typical “Daniel Craig looking like a bad ass” feel, but we also get a look at new Bond girl Naomie Harris and half of Ralph Fiennes. The nature of the Harry Potter actor’s role is being tightly kept under wraps, but this is the first time we’ve seen what his character looks like. Half his face is hidden behind a door to prevent being shot to bits, but I think we can safely assume he’s also self-conscious of his badly burned and disfigured left side (we can’t).
Hit the jump to check out the images and the video of Bardem and Craig talking about the film. Rumor has it (via The Daily Mail) that we’ll see the first trailer for Skyfall in front of Men in Black 3. Skyfall opens on November 9th.

2010′s Clash of the Titans was an absolute mess. The story made no sense, the movie wasted its cast, and the film was clearly cut to hell with perhaps a more interesting tale left on the editing room floor. The problems were compounded by thoughtless action scenes and atrocious 3D. Wrath of the Titans solves the confusing-story problem by making the plot stolid and obstinate. The action scenes are just as big but even more pointless, and the 3D looks fine but adds nothing to the experience. There are some brief, glorious moments where strong performances peak through, and we get a glimpse at some imaginative designs. These few moments help the sequel barely clear the low bar set by its predecessor.

We’ve been provided with five clips from the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans to share with you today. Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) takes over the director’s chair this time around and takes a more practical approach to the effects than Clash of the Titans. The film finds Perseus (Sam Worthington) tasked with stopping the titans and saving Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades’ stranglehold (Ralph Fiennes). Though Clash wasn’t exactly warmly received, Worthington has stated that he feels they did things right this time around. After seeing the film the other night, I agree. Wrath of the Titans is what I hoped Clash of the Titans would be. Trust me, the sequel is a vast improvement and a really good fantasy movie.
Hit the jump to watch the clips and look for exclusive video interviews with the cast and director Jonathan Liebesman next week . The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy, Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell and Danny Huston. Wrath of the Titans opens in 3D on March 30th.

The first clip from Wrath of the Titans has gone online. The sequel has Zeus (Liam Neeson) beseeching Perseus (Sam Worthington) to help stop the titans. In the clip, Zeus once again shows he’s kind of a moron as he places his trust in Hades, Lord of the Underworld (Ralph Fiennes) and Ares, the God of War (Édgar Ramírez). If you’re going to start a coalition, perhaps it’s best not to invite gods who thrive on death and destruction. I’ve heard that the sequel is much better than Clash of the Titans, but that’s a low bar to clear. There was a lot of potential in the first film, so perhaps Wrath will finally deliver (even though Zeus is giant doofus).

We’re a little more than a week out from the release of Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to 2010′s Clash of the Titans. You may have noticed from the images and trailers released for the movie so far that Wrath has no shortage of mythological creatures wreaking havoc and making life a living Hell for our heroes. With all of those beasties vying for screen time, it’s tough to pick out just which one is responsible for all that destruction. Take for instance, the fireball pictured above, which comes courtesy of one of the more bizarre creatures from Greek mythology, the Chimera. This new creature featurette will teach you everything you need to know should you find yourself up against the fearsome fire-breather.
