
As we approach the end of 2012, it can be a little daunting to look ahead at all the great films coming up in 2013. So today we’ll break down the 2013 releases for Disney, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney/Pixar and Marvel Studios. As usual, the Mouse House has a line-up full of live-action movies like Oz the Great and Powerful and The Lone Ranger, superhero features Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World and animated films such as Monsters University and Frozen. The latest release date information for the following films:
- Before there was Django Unchained, there was Django, Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 Western starring Franco Nero in the title role. Rialto will re-release Django starting December 21st.
- The George Clooney-directed The Monuments Men, starring Clooney alongside Daniel Craig, Matt Damon and Cate Blanchett, opens December 20, 2013.
- Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut, Quartet, starring Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly, moves from December 28th to January 11, 2013.
Sony Classics has also announced new release dates for:
- Love Is All You Need, starring Pierce Brosnan, opening May 3, 2013.
- At Any Price, with Zac Efron and Dennis Quaid, opening April 26, 2013.
- The Company You Keep, a Robert Redford film starring Redford himself alongside Shia LaBeouf, opens April 5, 2013.
- No, starring Gael Garcia Bernal, will open February 15, 2013.
- The Gatekeepers, a documentary directed by Dror Moreh, opens February 1, 2013.

We have plenty of new release dates to pass along:
- Sony Animation scheduled two Genndy Tartakovsky’s projects. The 3D cartoon Popeye that Tartakovsky will direct hits theaters September 26, 2014. The sequel to Tartakovsky’s Hotel Transylvania opens the following year on September 25, 2015.
- Relativity scheduled fellow cartoon Turkeys—featuring the voices of Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Dan Fogler—for a Thanksgiving release on November 14, 2014.
- The Last Exorcism II: The Beginning of the End is dated for March 1, 2013.
- The Aubrey Plaza comedy The To-Do List will move from Valentines Day next year to August 16, 2013. Relativity took advantage of the open slot and moved the Nicholas Sparks adaptation Safe Haven from February 8 back to February 14, 2013.

- Zero Dark Thirty, from director Kathryn Bigelow and starring Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton, will now open in L.A. and New York on December 19th, with a wide release on January 11th, 2013.
- Ride Along, the cop-centered action comedy starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and John Leguizamo, will open January 17th, 2014.
- The Guilt Trip, directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogan as mother and son, now avoids Christmas crowds by opening almost a week earlier on December 19th, 2012.
- Stand Up Guys, from director Fisher Stevens and starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin, has been pushed back to February 1st, 2013.
- Getaway, starring Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and Jon Voight, now opens August 30th, 2013.
- Closed Circuit, the John Crowley thriller starring Rebecca Hall, Eric Bana and Jim Broadbent, now opens August 28th, 2013.

Along with a new batch of release dates comes a title change to a significant picture. Check out the details below:
- Jack the Giant Killer will be formally retitled to Jack the Giant Slayer (because it’s more family-friendly…) and will now open March 1st, 2013. Pic stars Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor.
- Malavita, Luc Besson’s comedic actioner, gets a new release date, opening almost a year to the day on October 18th, 2013. Relativity pic stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Dianna Agron.
- Also from Relativity, 21 and Over will move up two weeks to open opposite Jack the Giant
Killer Slayer on March 1st, 2013. The picture stars Justin Chon, Skyler Astin and Miles Teller.

- Shawn Levy’s The Internship, starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, moves up a few weeks from June 28th to June 7th, 2013.
- Paranoia, from director Robert Luketic and starring Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford, moves back from September 27th to October 4th, 2013.
- Dead Man Down, starring Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, moves up a month from April 5th to March 8th, 2013.
- Scott Charles Stewart’s thriller Dark Skies starring Keri Russell and Dakota Goyo gets a release date of February 22nd, 2013.
- Disneynature’s Bears, directed by Keith Scholey (African Cats) and Alastair Fothergill (Chimpanzee), gets the somewhat less generic release date of April 2014 (it was previously listed as Spring 2014).
- Admission, the comedy from director Paul Weitz that stars Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, gets a release date of March 8th, 2013.

Hot on the heels of the news that Universal is shifting Les Miserables to Christmas Day this year, a few changes and debuts set for some 2013 releases have been announced. Briefly:
- I, Frankenstein – The graphic novel adaptation of the eponymous monster, played by Aaron Eckhart, has been pushed from February 22nd to September 13th, 2013.
- Battle of the Year – The breakdancing (or “B-boy”) film starring Josh Holloway, Josh Peck, and Chris Brown has been pushed from this January all the way to September 13th, 2013.
- Snitch – The action thriller starring Dwayne Johnson has been set for release on February 22nd, 2013.
- No Good Deed – The thriller featuring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson has been given a pre-Halloween release of October 18th, 2013.

A bit of a release date shuffle today and man are these titles hard on my lisp:
- Sinister, the horror thriller from director Scott Derrickson and starring Ethan Hawke and Juliet Rylance moves back a week from October 5th to October 12th, 2012.
- The Sessions, from director Ben Lewin and starring John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H. Macy moves up from October 26th to October 19th, 2012.
- The Starbuck remake by Ken Scott (the writer/director of the original 2011 film) has been bumped from September 28th of this year to March 29th, 2013. Starbuck stars Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders.

- Rush, the Forumula 1 racing picture from Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth has a new release date of September 20th, 2013.
- Mama, a horror film directed by Andres Muschietti and produced by Guillermo del Toro, has been pushed from October of this year to January 18th, 2013. The picture stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jessica Chastain.
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower, from writer/director Stephen Chbosky and starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson, has been pushed back a week from September 14th to September 21st of this year.
