We’ve been provided with five clips from the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans to share with you today. Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) takes over the director’s chair this time around and takes a more practical approach to the effects than Clash of the Titans.  The film finds Perseus (Sam Worthington) tasked with stopping the titans and saving Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades’ stranglehold (Ralph Fiennes).  Though Clash wasn’t exactly warmly received, Worthington has stated that he feels they did things right this time around. After seeing the film the other night, I agree.  Wrath of the Titans is what I hoped Clash of the Titans would be.  Trust me, the sequel is a vast improvement and a really good fantasy movie.

Hit the jump to watch the clips and look for exclusive video interviews with the cast and director Jonathan Liebesman next week .  The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy, Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell and Danny HustonWrath of the Titans opens in 3D on March 30th.

We’re a little more than a week out from the release of Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to 2010′s Clash of the Titans. You may have noticed from the images and trailers released for the movie so far that Wrath has no shortage of mythological creatures wreaking havoc and making life a living Hell for our heroes. With all of those beasties vying for screen time, it’s tough to pick out just which one is responsible for all that destruction. Take for instance, the fireball pictured above, which comes courtesy of one of the more bizarre creatures from Greek mythology, the Chimera. This new creature featurette will teach you everything you need to know should you find yourself up against the fearsome fire-breather.

Wrath of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Edgar Ramirez, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell and Danny Huston. The sequel opens in 3D on March 30th. Hit the jump to check out the featurette.

We’ve got four new images from Wrath of the Titans to premiere here on Collider today. The film is the follow-up to 2010’s Clash of the Titans and finds Perseus (Sam Worthington) being called on by the gods to help defeat the titans. Oh, and Hades has kidnapped Zeus too, so Perseus has to deal with that as well. There was a lot of troublemaking in ancient times is what I’m saying. Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) takes over the director’s chair this time around, and Rosamund Pike joins the cast as the female lead, Andromeda.

Hit the jump to check out the images. Edgar Ramirez, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy and Danny Huston also star. Wrath of the Titans opens in 3D on March 30th.

Warner Bros. has released 19 new images from Jonathan Liebesman‘s Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans.  The sequel has the gods calling on Perseus (Sam Worthington) to help defeat the titans.  The whole “Release the Kraken” thing from the first movie was just a big misunderstanding.  Gods and Perseus are cool now.  The images provide a first look at the great Edgar Ramirez (Carlos; check it out) as Ares.  He’s no Kratos, but Ramirez still looks like a quality god of war.

New Trailer for WRATH OF THE TITANS

A new trailer has gone online for Wrath of the Titans.  There’s not much in the way of new footage, but the marketing continues to push the big monsters over the puny humans.  The sequel takes place ten years after the original, and Perseus (Sam Worthington) is called in to assist the gods in taking down the titans.  I’m not sure if plots have become more coherent or 3D post-conversion has advanced in a decade, but one thing is for sure: wood is impenetrable.  You can use planks of wood as a shield against a fireball.  Spare me your mythical weapons.  I want wooden debris.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez, Bill Nighy, Toby Kebbell, and Rosamund PikeWrath of the Titans opens March 30th.

New Posters for WRATH OF THE TITANS

Warner Bros. has released two posters and three banners for Wrath of the Titans.  There’s no kraken this time around so none of the characters are going to say, “Let’s get kraken.”  I know the plot involves the titans getting unleashed and Zeus (Liam Neeson) asking Perseus (Sam Worthington) for some help, but I don’t get the point without kraken puns.  Kraken puns make the world go round.

New High Resolution Images from WRATH OF THE TITANS

Three new high-resolution images from the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans have been released. The story finds Sam Worthington’s Perseus tasked with rescuing Zeus (Liam Neeson) from the depths of the underworld. Ralph Fiennes returns as Hades, and the action-factor is upped this time around as the Titans unleash hell on Earth. The new images aren’t incredibly revealing, but we do get a good look at Rosamund Pike being an all-around badass. I wasn’t over the moon about Clash of the Titans, but the trailer for Jonathan Liebesman’s follow-up definitely piqued my interest. Worthington recently expressed his satisfaction with the end result to Steve, saying that Liebesman took a more realistic approach to the world in the vein of Ridley Scott.

MAN ON A LEDGE Review

by     Posted: January 26th, 2012 at 4:38 pm

Man on a Ledge will have a long and prosperous life playing on TNT for the next 134 years.  That’s not an insult.  Not every thriller needs to pump up our adrenaline, not every heist film has to dizzy our minds, and not every drama has to make us reconsider men and the ledges they stand on.  Sometimes it’s enough to simply be a fun little movie that can play in the background while you’re working on something else.  For the most part, Man on a Ledge manages to clear its modest bar but some key miscasting and wasted performances keep it from reaching the levels of The Negotiator or In the Line of Fire.

Sam Worthington Talks MAN ON A LEDGE, His CALL OF DUTY Commercial with Jonah Hill, WRATH OF THE TITANS and THUNDER RUN

With director Asger Leth’s (Ghosts of Cité Soleil) Man on a Ledge opening this weekend, I recently got to speak with most of the cast about making the movie.  The film centers on an ex-cop (Sam Worthington) convicted of a crime he didn’t commit who stands on the ledge of a Manhattan building, threatening to kill himself.  However, what appears to be a suicide attempt is something else altogether.  The film also stars Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Burns, Titus Welliver, Genesis Rodriguez, Kyra Sedgwick, and Ed Harris.

During my interview with Worthington we talked about how he got involved in Man on a Ledge, what was it like to really stand on the ledge, how many takes he likes to do, and if he was ever nervous.  In addition, we talked about video games, how he got cast in the Call of Duty commercial with Jonah Hill, how Wrath of the Titans is going to be different from the first film, and an upcoming project called Thunder Run that sounds very cool.  Hit the jump to watch.

New Images from WRATH OF THE TITANS Featuring Sam Worthington and Ralph Fiennes

by     Posted: January 23rd, 2012 at 8:27 am

The latest issue of Empire Magazine looks to be chock-full of goodies. We’ve already brought you some covers and images from The Avengers, and now some new images from the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans have landed online. The follow-up to Clash of the Titans finds Sam Worthington’s Perseus tasked with rescuing a kidnapped Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades (Ralph Fiennes). The images here are actually pretty cool, and give me hope that Wrath might possibly be a healthy step up from the underwhelming Clash. We get a peek at a grotesque-looking Minotaur, Rosamund Pike as Andromeda, Edgar Ramirez as Ares, Danny Huston as Poseidon, and Fiennes as Hades.

Sam Worthington Talks WRATH OF THE TITANS; Describes THUNDER RUN Filming Process as Cross Between AVATAR and TRON

Sam Worthington WRATH OF THE TITANS and THUNDER RUN interview slice

Before the release of James Cameron’s box office juggernaut Avatar, Sam Worthington was relatively unknown here in the U.S. However, the guy’s acting career took off in a big way in 2009 and is showing no signs of slowing down. Steve recently got the chance to sit down with Worthington to talk about his latest film Man on a Ledge. While we’ll have the full conversation up closer to the movie’s release, we wanted to share what Worthington had to say about two highly anticipated upcoming projects.

The actor spoke about the Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans, including his reaction to the finished film, and he briefly talked about the upcoming 3D motion-capture Iraq war film Thunder Run. He described the filming process of the latter as a mix between Avatar and Tron, and talked about the ambitious scope of the project. Hit the jump for more.

First Trailer and Poster for WRATH OF THE TITANS [Updated With New Posters]

The first trailer for Wrath of the Titans has gone online.  I was disappointed by Clash of the Titans, but the trailer has somewhat restored my interest in the sequel.  Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) has taken the reigns from Louis Leterrier and obviously the action scenes are bigger because that’s what sequels do.  But I was taken with the imaginative design for the sets and the creatures.  Presumably the 3D will be much better this time around since it’s not a post-converstion.  But the larger question remains: Is the script any better?  Here’s hoping. [Correction: It is a post-conversion. I was under the impression the filmmakers didn't want to do something so blatantly stupid.]

Hit the jump to check out the trailer and poster.  The film stars Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramiez, Bill Nighy, Toby Kebbell, and Rosamund PikeWrath of the Titans opens March 30, 2012. [Update: A couple of crazy banners a new image have been released, which are now included after the jump.]

First Look at Sam Worthington in WRATH OF THE TITANS and Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

by     Posted: December 2nd, 2011 at 12:08 pm

Today we’ve been granted a first look at Wrath of the Titans and the comedy Neighborhood Watch courtesy of some scans from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The Clash of the Titans sequel once again stars Sam Worthington as Perseus, who is tasked with rescuing a kidnapped Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades (Ralph Fiennes). The image shows Worthingon running and yelling (something he’s gotten very, very good at), and he seems to be carrying a trident. Director Jonathan Liebesman reveals that the trident is but one of several celestial weapons Perseus has to bring together “in order to create an uber-weapon.” Hit the jump for info on Neighborhood Watch and to check out the images.
