Production is currently underway on the 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall, and Daniel Craig has been spotted filming some cardio-heavy scenes. The first official still from the pic was released a few days ago, in which we saw Craig wielding a gun. These set photos may seem a bit redundant, as they again show Craig as Bond wielding a gun. The actor was apparently filming a scene that required him to run, and he’s also wearing a handy-dandy earpiece. Not much is known about the plot, but director Sam Mendes has assembled quite the cast so I’m very much looking forward to the next Bond entry.
Hit the jump to check out the set photos. The film also stars Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Chaplin, Judi Dench, Berenice Marlohe, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes. Skyfall opens November 9th.

The first images of Scarlett Johansson in the sci-fi drama Under the Skin have gone online. Johansson plays a sexy alien in the film, which centers on an extraterrestrial on Earth disguised as a gorgeous woman who uses her “voracious sexuality” to entrap human prey. Based on the novel by Michael Faber, the pic comes from Sexy Beast writer-director Jonathan Glazer and encapsulates much more than the logline would suggest, as the film eventually tackles issues of humanity. The first images of Russell Crowe all gussied up in his costume as Jor-El from Man of Steel have surfaced online. We don’t see him interacting with any other actors on set, but we do see Superman’s dad smoking a cigarette while wearing alien clothes. The costume actually looks pretty cool. He’s got an otherworldly-looking “S” on the front, and a super awesome cape. Crowe plays Superman’s biological father in Zack Snyder’s reboot, which has Henry Cavill set as the Man of Steel himself. Julia Ormond was originally set to play Superman’s biological mother Lara Lor-Von opposite Crowe, but she was recently replaced with Ayelet Zurer.
Hit the jump to see the images. The film also stars Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Harry Lennix, and Christopher Meloni. Man of Steel opens June 14th, 2013.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson. The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012.
[Update: We've updated the article with images of Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston on set in costume.]

Not to be outdone by the plethora of The Dark Knight Rises set imagery that we’ve brought you the past couple of days, director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is now showing off some set skin from its Illinois shooting locations. Like I’ve stated in the past, I’m not a huge fan of set photos that contain little context beyond “this is a picture of a box of props from the set of a movie you want to see.” Conversely, I’m even less fond of set photos that spoil what tiny element of surprise that may still exist in today’s film landscape. So, with my incredibly hard to please tastes in mind, I’ll say that I think these images are worth checking out because they fall somewhere in between being pointless and spoiltastic.
Hit the jump to check out the images of some Smallville school buses and the Kent family farmhouse. Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russel Crowe, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, and Michael Shannon, Man of Steel hits theaters on June 14, 2013.

Though we’ve yet to see any photos of actual filming for the anticipated second season of HBO’s epic fantasy series Game of Thrones, based on the books by author George R.R. Martin, some photos of a prominent set piece surfaced today that should get those familiar with the series excited. The photos clearly reveal the statue of The Seven, the predominant Gods of Westeros which include the Father, the Mother, the Warrior, the Maiden, the Smith, the Crone, and the Stranger (who represents Death).
As someone who hasn’t read the books, I can’t exactly tell you how they come into play in the second season, and we’d rather not spoil what could be a major plot point anyway, so if you’re dying to know more about these statues, the rest of the world wide web is at your disposal. Otherwise check out the photos of the statue below and be sure to check out our recent post about the future of Game of Thrones and more from the Television Critics Association Press Tour going on right now. Normally, I’m not the biggest champion of set photos. I just don’t understand what they prove beyond the fact that “Movie X” is indeed filming in “Location A” with “Talent C.” Nevertheless, when you give them a little context, I tend to care a little more. For example, director Len Wiseman (Underworld) told Steve at Comic-Con that his Total Recall remake was in the process of shooting a 15-day hovercraft chase scene (for comparison sake, chase scenes and other comparable action sequences generally take around 5 days to film). With that information in mind, I was actually kind of excited to see some images from that shoot pop up online.
In addition to the Total Recall images, we also have some pics from the Rome set of writer/director Woody Allen’s Bop Decameron. Granted, those pics fall closer to the somewhat bland example outlined above, but fans of Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, and Greta Gerwig may still find something worth checking out after the jump. Starring Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, and Ethan Hawke, Total Recall hits theaters on August 2nd. Allen’s Bop Decameron is currently eyeing an unspecified 2012 release.

Based on the fan-favorite video game franchise, 2006’s Silent Hill was panned by critics and never made a profit from domestic sales. However, reaching nearly $100 million in sales internationally and making Box Office Mojo’s Top 10 video game adaptations was apparently enough to elicit a sequel. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D creeped us out a couple of months ago with some carnival-themed set pieces.
Today we have some new images from the set, ones that take a closer look at some of our favorite characters and monsters. Sharp-eyed viewers among you might be able to spot Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) looking creepier than I’ve ever seen her before. Hit the jump to check out the photos.

Some new set photos from The Dark Knight Rises have hit the web giving us our first look at the rebuilt Wayne Manor. As you recall, Batman’s house went all up in flames in Batman Begins, then he worked out of an underground command center in The Dark Knight, so it looks like he’ll finally be getting a decent home in Rises. The photos also reveal a graveyard that was built adjacent to Wollaton Hall in England, which is standing in for Wayne Manor. Will we finally be seeing Bruce Wayne visit his parents’ grave?
Hit the jump to check out the images. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Matthew Modine, Josh Pence, Brett Cullen, Juno Temple, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Chris Elli, Josh Stewart, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman. The film hits theaters on July 20th, 2012.

As a fan of the video games, I’m always interested in seeing how Silent Hill film adaptations turn out. While I thought the visual style that Christophe Gans brought to the 2006 iteration was on par with the creepy atmosphere present throughout most of the games, some new images from the set of writer/director Michael J. Bassett’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D match said creepiness and multiply it by a factor of a creepy carnival.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Hitting theaters in 2012, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Malcolm McDowell.

Several new images of Andrew Garfield on the set of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man have popped up online. The images feature the wall-crawler in what looks to be a stand-off situation as well as a half-suited Garfield apparently taking tips on how to point a gun at a grounded opponent. All right, so that is probably a little out of character for Spidey. In any case, you can hit the jump to check out the images.
In addition to Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Denis Leary. The film hits 3D theaters on July 3, 2012.

Jessica Alba is channeling superhero chic on the set of Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World in Austin. Despite the Texan heat, she looks pretty cool in her badass black pantsuit, a likely crossover from the closets of Catwoman and the Black Widow.
Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, stars of the Spy Kids trilogy, can also be seen with Alba and are clearly no longer kids. In this fourth installment, their characters Carmen and Juni Cortez will instead be arming the new Spy Kids with some incredible gadgets worthy of James Bond’s M.
Jessica Alba is playing Marissa Cortez Wilson, a retired spy who returns to service alongside her two step children, the new Spy Kids, to defeat the evil Timekeeper, played by Jeremy Piven. Community’s Joel McHale also stars as Marissa’s spy hunting reporter husband. Hit the jump to see the photos and read the full synopsis.

Summit Entertainment has begun principal photography on Man on a Ledge, and as such we have our first image from the set of Sam Worthington. On a ledge. The thriller revolves around the attempts of an NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) to talk down an ex-cop and wanted fugitive (Worthington) from the ledge of a high-rise building: “The longer they are on the ledge, the more [Banks] realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.”
The impressive cast is rounded out by Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), Jamie Bell (Jumper), Ed Harris (Gone Baby Gone), and Edward Burns (27 Dresses), and newcomer Genesis Rodriguez. Hit the jump for the high resolution image and the official press release.

With Trespass set to wrap its nine-week shoot in Shreveport, Louisiana this weekend, we have a slew of new images from the film as well as quotes from Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, and director Joel Schumacher to share with you today. For those in the dark about the thriller, Trespass takes place over the course of one day and tells the story of a wealthy husband and wife (Cage & Kidman) who fall victim to a home invasion. In addition to Cage and Kidman, the film also stars Cam Gigandet, Ben Mendelsohn, Jordana Spiro, and Liana Liberato. It is currently looking at a 2011 release.
While it’s no secret that Schumacher has put out some clunkers in the past (I’m mostly looking at you, “Nipple Batman,” although I’ve heard less than stellar things about Twelve as well), it is equally true that the director has been responsible for solid offerings such as The Lost Boys and Falling Down. This in mind, with every new Schumacher release, I find myself willing to give it a chance with the hope that he’ll make something with the type of lasting value his best films possess. Though I wouldn’t say I’m waiting on pins and needles for Trespass, my approach here will be no different.
