If I know our readers, you want to see as much of you can of Iron Man 3. You are in luck: Marvel has released six minutes of behind-the-scenes footage from the superhero sequel. It is nice to see Robert Downey Jr. play with all the different suits (although there is a notable amount of plainclothes action) and do some of his own stunts. But for me the big revelation is that Tony Stark appears to spend a good deal of bonding time with a young kid (Ty Simpkins).
Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley co-star. Directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), Iron Man 3 opens May 3. Watch the B-roll after the break.

The first clip from Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass 2 is now online. While I’m surprised that this massive fight scene between costumed heroes and villains is the first clip we’re getting, I’m not complaining! Some of our old favorites are back but there is a host of new characters on both sides of the battle. Battle Guy, Night Bitch and Doctor Gravity get in on the action and it’s not just Kick-Ass and The Mother Fucker who square off. Hit-Girl takes on a big challenge when she goes up against Mother Russia by herself.
Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Clark Duke, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Jim Carrey and Olga Kurkulina, Kick-Ass 2 opens August 16th. Hit the jump to watch the clip. [Update: Unfortunately it looks as if this clip has been taken down. Sorry if you missed it!]

A new clip and poster for director Paul Feig’s (Bridesmaids) upcoming buddy cop comedy The Heat have been released online. The film stars Sandra Bullock as an FBI agent who teams up with a local Boston cop (Melissa McCarthy) in order to bring down a drug lord. The previous trailers and clips have teased some excellent chemistry between Bullock and McCarthy, and this latest clip is no different. We see an alternate take on the good cop/bad cop routine with a nice cameo by Michael McDonald and an excellent punch line.

A new international TV spot has been released for Iron Man 3, and MTV just aired a clip from the upcoming superhero flick. Thankfully, neither the clip nor the TV spot are big on spoilers. It’s just selling the hell out of the action, and that really can’t be spoiled since it’s going to be far more effective on the big screen than it is on your computer monitor or television. My larger concern is if the 3D will help or hinder the picture.
Hit the jump to check out the clip and the TV spot. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley. Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3rd.

Some rather interesting new materials from writer/director Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film The Bling Ring have made their way online. Most notable is the first clip from the film, which is based on the true story of a group of teenagers who robbed the homes of the rich and famous between October 2008 and August 2009, coming away with over $3 million worth of loot from the likes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, and Lindsay Lohan. The clip shows the group of youngsters raiding a rather ridiculous “closet” that presumably belongs to one of the aforementioned celebrities, and we see Emma Watson’s character trying out a stripper pole in the process. I’m really interested to see Coppola’s angle on this celeb-obsessed story, and it’s looking like The Bling Ring might make a nice double feature with Harmony Korine’s culture portrait Spring Breakers.
Hit the jump to watch the first clip and to check out a batch of new images. The film also stars Taissa Farmiga, Israel Broussard (Flipped), Katie Chang, Claire Julien, Gavin Rossdale, and Leslie Mann. The Bling Ring opens in limited release on June 14th.

Universal has released the first clip from Paul Feig‘s new comedy, The Heat. The film is a standard buddy-cop formula where a straight-laced cop (Sandra Bullock) is teamed up with a shoot-from-the-hip partner (Melissa McCarthy), and they learn to overcome their differences and become BFFs on their mission to bring down the bad guys. The plot is secondary to the chemistry, and judging by the trailer, Bullock and McCarthy look like they’re going to be a great comic duo. Most of the new clip is material that’s already been in the trailer, so there’s no need to worry about spoilers.
Hit the jump to check out the clip. The Heat opens June 28th.

If I had to bet on a sleeper hit this summer, I’d put my money on The To Do List. A sex comedy with an outstanding cast can really do well at the end of the summer (e.g. Superbad), and other than This Is the End, it’s hard to find a better group of comic actors in a movie this year. The film stars Aubrey Plaza as a sexually inexperienced teenager with a type-A personality who decides to engage in numerous sex acts before she goes to college. This clip highlights the benefits of drinking pineapple juice in order to improve the taste of semen. In a missed opportunity, Dole did not provide product placement.
Hit the jump to check out the clip and a few images. The terrific cast also includes Donald Glover, Rachel Bilson, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Alia Shawkat, Mae Whitman, Johnny Simmons, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Scott Porter. The To Do List opens August 16th.

Paramount Pictures has released the first two clips from director Michael Bay’s dark comedy Pain & Gain. The film is based on a true story and stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson as two bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring and kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong. The first clip focuses more on the film’s humor than its flashy visuals, as we see Anthony Mackie’s bodybuilder character receiving questionable health care from a characteristically humorous Rebel Wilson. The second clip shows the three of them trying to kidnap someone.

A new clip from the directorial debut of Superbad and Pineapple Express scribes Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg has been released online. This Is the End stars Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and many more as the actors play exaggerated versions of themselves that are trying to survive the end of the world. The majority of the story appears to take place in James Franco’s house, which serves as the group’s default bunker, and this new clip highlight’s Baruchel’s unwillingness to die at the actor’s house. The film still looks like it’s going to be a whole lot of fun, and if you somehow still need convincing I suggest you check out the hilarious red-band trailer that was recently released.

Marvel has released the first clip from Iron Man 3. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has always had an odd relationship with the press, whether he’s sleeping with them asking them to sit down on the ground, or telling them he’s Iron Man. This time around, he uses the press to deliver a direct threat to the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) with the promise of “good, old-fashioned revenge.” I assume it’s lawful to threaten someone with murder as long as that person is a known terrorist? I’ll have to check the Patriot Act.
Hit the jump to check out the clip. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, and Guy Pearce. Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3rd.

Marvel finally released the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One box set earlier this week, and included in the collection is a bounty of extras from the studio’s past and future films. We’ve already shared a collection of images, video, and concept art for a few of the Phase Two films, and today quite a few deleted scenes from The Avengers and Iron Man 2 have surfaced online. The Avengers scenes are minor bits and pieces that were nipped out of the finished film, but the Iron Man 2 footage is fascinating because it reveals an alternate ending for the film that involves Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash kidnapping Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper. It’s rather anticlimactic and it’s not hard to see why Jon Favreau went back and reshot the ending that now concludes the final iteration of the film.

With writer/director Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion opening April 19th, we’ve been provided with four clips from the sci-fi film. The story takes place on a dystopian Earth and stars Tom Cruise as a drone repairman who holds the future of mankind in his hands after discovering a crashed spaceship. Oblivion also stars Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.
Over the past few months we’ve seen tons of images, posters, images, and featurettes. Based on what I’ve seen thus far, I’m counting down the days, especially since Kosinski told us that Oblivion will be presented “in IMAX will be full frame 1.9 through the whole thing.” Needless to say, if you’re going to see the film, see it in IMAX! Hit the jump to watch the clips and look for my video interviews with the cast week of release.

As Jeff attempts to form his own identity in the shadow of the legacy of a man he barely knew, he also finds comfort in this new relationship as they explore New York City. The film also stars Ben Rosenfield in flashbacks to the elder Buckley’s 1960s experiences. Hit the jump for the trailer, clip and poster.

Disney has released a new sneak peek at footage from its upcoming animated feature Planes. If you weren’t already aware that Planes was originally destined for a direct-to-DVD release, this new bit of footage should clue you in. From the incessant “rock” music to the cheesy dialogue, this one looks like it is aimed squarely at the kiddos and no one else. That being said, airplanes are indeed a bit like magic when you’re a child, so one assumes this one will be a hit with the younger crowd.
Hit the jump to watch this new bit of footage. Dane Cook leads a voice cast that includes Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Stacy Keach, Cedric the Entertainer, Teri Hatcher, Brad Garrett, Roger Craig Smith, Gabriel Iglesias, Carlos Alazraqui, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, Priyanka Chopra, Sinbad, Brent Musburger, and Colind Cowherd. Planes opens in 3D on August 9th.

Warner Bros. has released seven clips from the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, led by Chadwick Boseman. Harrison Ford co-stars as Branch Rickey, the general manager who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball by signing Robinson to the Dodgers. It’s a curious performance by Ford, who wraps a thick dialect around such mouthfuls as:
“Someday you’re going to meet God. And when he inquires as why you didn’t take the field against Robinson in Philadelphia, and you answer that it’s because he was a negro, it may not be a sufficient reply!”
Since we are withholding judgement until we see the full context of the performance, let’s focus on the fact that the period piece photography is sharp, and Boseman looks to be a charasmatic lead. Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Judy Tylor, Jon Bernthal, Nicole Beharie, and T.R. Knight co-star. Directed by Brian Helgeland, 42 opens April 12. Watch the clips after the break.
