Paramount Options GIDEON’S SWORD for Michael Bay to Produce

Paramount has optioned the upcoming Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child novel Gideon’s Sword for Michael Bay to produce through his Bay Films label. Sword is the first novel in a new Gideon Crew series.  Variety reports the novel is getting published next February, but no synopsis or logline has been released.  But, if we look at what the writers have done in the past, they focus on horror and techno-thrillers and have published 13 New York Times bestsellers.

Bay landing Gideon’s Sword makes it his second book-to-film deal this year, as he also landed James Frey’s I Am Number Four.  Production on the sci-fi film is currently underway with D.J. Caruso directing.
