The first official trailer for the upcoming fourth entry in the ever-popular found footage horror franchise Paranormal Activity is set to be released this week, and in keeping with the new trend of actually doing marketing for trailers, a poster and an incredibly brief teaser trailer for the film have gone online today. As far as I can tell, the teaser only offers footage from the previous films. We know next to nothing about Paranormal Activity 4 other than the fact that Paranormal Activity 3 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman have returned to take the helm with a script by The River producer Zack Estrin.

They’re enjoyable enough diversions. Cheap, easy to forget, but they make for good theatrical experiences with the right audience. Keep them coming. I’ll never call a Paranormal Activity film a great movie but they always make for great theatrical viewings.

I like these movies, but I’m not sure if I’ll believe anything shown in a future PA4 trailer will be in the final movie after what happened with the PA3 trailers, which showed the sister’s house on fire plus other stuff not in the movie.
I cannot wait to see where they go from here. Surely it can’t be another prequel, unless it’s a silent movie of their great-aunt doing a seance that went bad.
