At this point, I can barely even remember what went down in Paul Blart: Mall Cop, but hey, the film scored $183.3 million worldwide so Sony just had to deliver a sequel six years later. This time around, Paul (Kevin James) is in Vegas on vacation, but he isn’t happy about it. He’d much rather be on duty, riding his Segway and saving the day. Lucky for him, there just so happens to be some criminals up to no good at his hotel, giving him an excuse to suit up and serve as backup, even if the authorities don’t want it.

Can’t say I find the gags in the film’s new trailer particularly funny, but I’m also not a big fan of the original. You can check out the new Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 trailer for yourself below. The film is due in theaters on April 17th and also stars Raini Rodriguez, Daniella Alonso, Eduardo Verástegui, Neal McDonough, David Henrie, D.B. Woodside and Nicholas Turturro.

Here’s the official synopsis for Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2:

In this sequel, in which Kevin James reprises the role of Paul Blart, the security guard is headed to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) before she departs for college. While at the convention, he inadvertently discovers a heist – and it’s up to Blart to apprehend the criminals.
