As is their wont, Showtime has released the first full episodes from the new season of Penny Dreadful as well as the new series HAPPYish before their official premieres. The episodes are scrubbed of nudity (although the HAPPYish episode on YouTube requires an age verification, though I'm assuming it's for language), but Showtime is hoping that the sneak peeks of the drama (or comedy, as the case may be) will get you hooked.

For those who are already Penny Dreadful fans, though, it's just a bonus look at the upcoming second season, which will premiere Sunday, May 3rd at 10 p.m. The series, which was a surprise breakout hit last year, follows some familiar characters from Victorian horror literature (and some new ones), but explores their supernatural plights in new ways. Penny Dreadful stars Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Harry Treadaway, and Rory Kinnear (in a fan-favorite role).

If you're interested in Penny Dreadful but don't want to dive into Season 2 without seeing Season 1, the first two episodes of the first season are also available in full on Showtime's Penny Dreadful YouTube channel.

As for HAPPYish, it's a comedy that was originally conceived of as a starring vehicle for the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, and now stars Steve Coogan as a 44-year-old husband and father whose search for happiness only makes him more miserable (Kathryn Hahn and Bradley Whitford co-star). HAPPYish premieres with "Starring Samuel Beckett, Albert Camus, and Alois Alzheimer" on Sunday, April 26th at 9:30 p.m.

We'll have a review of the first three episode of HAPPYish publishing on the site later this week, as well as a review and additional coverage of Penny Dreadful as it gets closer to its premiere. If you just can't wait, though, you can watch one or both of the episodes below:
