Yesterday we caught a glimpse at the first trailer for the upcoming drama People Like Us (formerly Welcome to People), and now a batch of new images from the film have gone online. The story centers on a man (Chris Pine) who inherits $150,000 upon his father’s death, but must deliver the money to a sister he never met (Elizabeth Banks). The trailer walks a fine line between cheesey and touching, but I’m a big fan of the cast so hopefully we’ve got a sleeper dramedy in the vein of Crazy, Stupid, Love on our hands.Hit the jump to check out the images. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) and also stars Olivia Wilde, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael D'Addario, and Mark Duplass. People Like Us opens on June 29th.Here’s the synopsis for People Like Us.

From DreamWorks Pictures comes ‘People Like Us,’ a drama/comedy about family, inspired by true events, starring Chris Pine (‘Star Trek’) as Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, whose latest deal collapses on the day he learns that his father has suddenly died. Against his wishes, Sam is called home, where he must put his father’s estate in order and reconnect with his estranged family. In the course of fulfilling his father’s last wishes, Sam uncovers a startling secret that turns his entire world upside down: He has a 30-year-old sister Frankie whom he never knew about (Elizabeth Banks). As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about this family–and re-examine his own life choices in the process.
