In case you never quite got your fill of the Garbage Pail Kids, a new feature film adaptation is on the way courtesy of Michael Eisner’s The Tornate Company. The characters began as a batch of trading cards designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids, but immense popularity of the Garbage Pail Kids led to a 1987 live-action musical film adaptation and a TV series that was never aired in the U.S. due its controversial subject matter. It’s kind of strange that former Disney CEO Eisner is the one who’s company is bringing the twisted characters to the screen, but Deadline reports that The Tornate Company will finance and produce the feature.

The concept for the latest incarnation of the characters comes from screenwriter Michael Vukadinovich and director PES. Vukadinovich recently scripted The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto for Shawn Levy to produce, and PES is an acclaimed creator of a number of stop-motion animated shorts. PES will direct from a script by Vukadinovich. Judging by PES’ short film work, we’re in for quite the visual experience with Garbage Pail Kids. Hit the jump to check out his latest, fantastic short called Fresh Guacamole.

Here’s Fresh Guacamole followed by the incredibly disturbing trailer for the 1987 Garbage Pail Kids movie.
