We don’t heavily cover SNL here on Collider, but we’ll break the cycle for Peter Dinklage. The Game of Thrones star is hosting the late-night sketch comedy series this weekend, and the first set of promos has arrived featuring Cecily Strong. Naturally, the fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin’s books was a major spoofing point, made all the more funny if you’ve encountered one of those self-proclaimed geeks who mistakes Game of Thrones for Game of Thorns and Tyrion for Tyrone.

The first promo also gets into the history of the catchy phrase “winter is coming,” which, as it turns out, sounds a helluva lot more dramatic than “summer is coming” or “autumn is coming.” Elsewhere, Dinklage and his smoldering eyes win over Strong until she realizes he was talking about this weekend’s musical guest, Gwen Stefani, and the two can’t tell the difference between a clear glass window and a movie theater screen showing Batman v Superman.

Watch the promos below.

Dinklage will return as Tyrion for Game of Thrones season 6, which premieres on HBO April 24th. When last we saw the Lannister at large, he was in the company of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), though she found herself in another dilemma. Based on photos and footage from the season, we know Tyrion at least starts in Mereen with “The Spider” Lord Varys. Elsewhere, Sophie Turner (Sansa) teased that this season will be a big one for her, Isaac Wright returns as Bran Stark after being away last season, and we’ll meet new characters, like actor Max von Sydow as The Three-Eyed Raven. Perhaps Dinklage will let slip all the spoilers during his SNL hosting turn as he did earlier last year regarding his character’s fate.

Watch Dinklage on SNL this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
