Peter Dinklage Talks X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, the Great Cast of Actors, Script Changes During Production, Comic-Con, and More

     May 21, 2014

Opening this weekend is director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.  As most of you know, Days of Future Past finds Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) having his consciousness sent back to 1973 in order to help Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of the X-Men: First Class crew stop the rise of the Sentinels, giant robots programmed to exterminate mutants.  The film also takes place in the future, so we’re going to see the original X-Men cast and what will happen if Wolverine fails.  I caught a screening last week and am very happy to report the film is great.  It’s loaded with awesome character moments and tons of mutant action.  You’re all going to love it.  For more on the film, watch these five clips and nine minutes of behind-the-scenes footage, and click here for all of our coverage.

At the New York City press day, I landed a video interview with Peter Dinklage.  He talked about immediately saying yes when he was offered the role, how the film is filled with great actors, script changes during production, his experience at last year’s Comic-Con promoting X-Men and Game of Thrones, and more.  Hit the jump to watch.

And if you missed my video interviews with Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, or screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg, click the links.

    Love the guy!!!

His accent in GoT is amongst the best I’ve heard, I was shocked when I first saw an interview with him…. his performances in the last 2 episodes have showcased one of the greatest actors of our time.

I saw it tonight (at Vienna’s midnight release … still don’t know
why we (Europeans) suddenly get the big blockbusters a little earlier,
but whatever, I like it :-)
So here’s a littler (spoiler free, apart from stuff in the trailers) review:
    Anyway: it was great!
    I can’t say if
it’s the best entry in the series thus far and it definitely requires a
second viewing until I can give my final judgement, but in my opinion
it’s definitely en par with X-2. The action is by far the best of all
X-Men movies so far (opening battle and the stadion piece were great),
and I thought especially Fassbender’s performance was once again
breathtaking and Quicksilver was a more than pleasant surprise (best
superspeed sequence ever seen on the silver screen). The rest of the
cast ranged from ground-solid to very good, but I saw no one else
sticking out (altough it really felt good to see Stewart and McKellen
    once again in these roles).
I think more could have been made of Dincklage (altough that might be due to the German dub).

All in all a really great movie experience with some nice surprises for the fans down the road!

    Have fun!
