With Pete's Dragon landing in theaters next month, Disney is rolling out some footage from the David Lowery (Ain't Them Body Saints) directed fantasy remake. A few days ago, we got the first clip, which introduced us to Robert Redford and Bryce Dallas Howard's father/daughter duo, who have a family history with the titular dragon. Today brings a new pair of clips that introduce the other half of that title, Oakes Fegley's Pete, a young boy discovered in the woods who claims to have spent six years living in the forest with Elliot the dragon.

The clips are loaded with charm, but what they're not loaded with is dragons, which is why we're all at this party anyway, right? I'm mostly kidding, although as Game of Thrones has proved, the people love dragons. The clip may be low-key, but they're endearing, and in particular it's nice to see Howard leaning into her good natured sweetness after a string of "bitchy" or "ice queen" roles (Twilight, The Help, 50/50, Jurrasic World).

Also starring Karl Urban, Wes BentleyOona Laurence, Craig Hall, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.Pete’s Dragon will land in U.S. theaters on August 12th. Check out the new clips below, and if you missed it, watch the first clip here.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Pete’s Dragon:

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
