Ten years ago we got a film that not only launched the career of Edgar Wright, one of our finest writer/directors but also gave us the brilliant duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (to be fair, Spaced played a fairly large role in this as well).  That film was Shaun of the Dead.  And while Pegg in particular has been unwaveringly resolute in his comments that there will not be a sequel to that film, that doesn’t mean we’ll never see the characters onscreen again.

Today we learned that Pegg and Frost will be reprising their roles as Shaun and Ed in the Halloween episode of Phineas and Ferb.  Hit the jump for more on their resurrection.  Phineas and Ferb airs on Fridays on the Disney Channel.

Pegg tweeted out the news this morning.  While we don’t have an image of what these two will look like as viewed through the lens of Phineas and Ferb’s animators, it’ll be nice to have them back (however briefly).  One question remains though.  Will this episode take place before or after the events of the film?  Because that could change Frost’s appearance in a fairly drastic manner.
