Just a short while after we posted the first onset photo from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (aka Pirates of the Caribbean 5) Johnny Depp sustained an injury on the set (but not while filming) that ground the production to a halt. But it’s okay, he’s back in the swing of things and and under the direction of new helmers Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning. So this time producer Jerry Bruckheimer decided to tweet a photo of the actor that was a bit less mercurial.
Check out the image below. In addition to Depp, newcomers Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Golshifteh Farahani star alongside series regulars Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally and Stephen Graham. The script was written by Jeff Nathanson (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Catch Me If You Can).

Here’s the synopsis for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Here’s hoping that it’s better than On Stranger Tides, which shouldn’t be hard. And if it’s as good as the first one (which was actually great), well that would be something.
