The first trailer for director Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines has gone online. The film centers on two fathers: one is a pro-motorcycle rider and bank robber (Ryan Gosling) while the other is a rookie cop on the rise (Bradley Cooper). Though the two leads are instantly set on a collision course, it’s hard to know who to root for with such compelling actors in their respective multi-dimensional roles. You can also check out two clips from the film here and read Matt Goldberg’s review from TIFF.
The Place Beyond the Pines also stars Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn, Rose Byrne and Ray Liotta. The film opens March 29, 2013. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.

Here’s the synopsis for The Place Beyond the Pines:
Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines is a rich dramatic thriller, tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains.

Wow, that looks amazing. I loved Blue Valentine (although very depressing) but still amazing directing and acting and looking forward to this one as well from Gosling and Cooper
Looks like an arthouse “HEAT” but in a good way.
Looks good!
i think they just showed us the ending. he goes from rookie cop to politician and his son is standing right beside him probably meaning Ryan’s character dies
See this is what we call adult entertainment so don’t try to use your Nolanite brain to decipher it. GO watch your billionaire dresses up as a bat kiddy shit and let the adults talk.
What the hell is this comment? All Strong said was they thought the ending may have be given away in the very first trailer? If anyone needs to take a step back it is you my friend.
Why the hell does the internet have to be so venom filled, grow up for Christ sake.
don’t pay him any mind. my fans on this site have low brain cells. ha!
Sorry but Strong Enough’s defence of the awful Dark Knight Rises makes him deserving of cyber bullying until he no longer posts or recants his position on the film. The ha! doesn’t cover up the fact he’s gotten to.
defence? LMAOO
defence is the British Spelling. You can google it. You’re on the internet afterall.
oh your from the UK. that explains a lot lol
