As expected, 20th Century Fox is unveiling a Poltergeist trailer very soon and in honor of the promo’s big debut, the studio just released the first poster and a brief trailer teaser, too. The video is a mere 18 seconds, so there isn’t all that much to assess, but a good clown scare is always fun and the scene does spark some serious nostalgia for the clown attack in Tobe Hooper’s original. And the same goes for the poster as well. Whether you’re a fan of the 1982 film or not, it’s an appealing, eerie shot and then for those who do know what’s lurking behind those closet doors, the design will make you amped to revisit it.

The first Poltergeist trailer is due to arrive today so keep an eye on the site because we’ll share it the moment it drops. For now, you can check out the Poltergeist reboot poster and trailer teaser below, and, in case you missed it, click here to take a look at the first images from the film. Poltergeist arrives in theaters in 3D on July 24th and stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, Jane AdamsKyle Catlett and Kennedi Clements.

Here’s the official synopsis of Poltergeist:

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
