Because of the snowstorm, our previous screening of Pompeii was canceled, to which I can only say, “At least we weren’t destroyed by lava and frozen in time by volcanic ash.” Thankfully, we’re doing another screening, and so I will repeat my previous comment about how this movie looks like Gladiator but with lava. I don’t know what else I can say to try and convince you to see it.
I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 25 pairs of passes to the rescheduled Atlanta screening of Pompeii. Hit the jump to find out how you can win a chance to see the movie early and for free. The film stars Kit Harington, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbage, Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Lucas, and Jared Harris. Pompeii opens in 3D on February 21st.
To enter for a chance to get you and a guest into the movie, send an e-mail to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “POMPEII”. The 3D screening is on Wednesday, February 19th @ 7:30 PM at Regal Atlantic Station so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Also, if you won tickets to our canceled screening, you will be offered passes to this screening, so please don’t submit a new entry.
In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the trailer:
And here’s the official synopsis:
Set in 79 A.D., POMPEII tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.
