The new Power Rangers movie isn’t due in theaters until next March but Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer is already talking about sequels. Seven sequels to be exact. In a report from Variety, Feltheimer was on a conference call with analysts when the subject of their Power Rangers movie came about. In discussing the future, and the possibilities of sequels, he said they are very excited and could see five, six, seven movies in the future. The newest film in production is directed by Dean Israelite with a cast of five young actors starring as the Rangers. We’ll have to wait and see if those seven sequels come into fruition when Saban’s Power Rangers hits theaters March 24th, 2017.

Lionsgate has released the newest trailer for Deepwater Horizon, the true story based on one of the world’s largest man-made disasters to occur in the Gulf of Mexico, in a story meant to honor the brave men and women whose heroism saved many on board the oil rig known as Deepwater Horizon. Directed by Lone Survivor director Peter Berg, the movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien, and Kate Hudson with the film opening in theatres September 30th.

20th Century Fox has released the first official image from Ridley’s Scott’s Alien prequel/sequel known as Alien: Covenant. The first look shows Katherine Waterston’s character revealed to be named Daniels with nothing else known about the character other than she has short hair. Alien: Covenant will pick up 10 years after the events of Prometheus, and finds the crew aboard the colony ship Covenant headed for a remote planet. The crew soon find a ‘paradise’ planet occupied solely by David, the survivor of the Prometheus expedition. The movie opens on August 4, 2017 and stars Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride and Billy Crudup.

James Cameron has been developing Battle Angel, an adaptation of the Manga series Battle Angel Alita for years now, but with his attention pulled in the direction of the Avatar franchise there has been very little forward progress until recently when Cameron handed over directing duties to Robert Rodriguez, with the filmmaker looking to find the right young woman to lead the film. Now, in a report right here on Collider.com, sources are saying that Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials standout Rosa Salazar has landed the coveted role of Alita. Battle Angel takes place in the 26th Century and tells the story of an amnesiac female cyborg who is rescued from a scrapyard by a doctor and rebuilt with no memory of her previous life except for some kickass martial arts skills. She then becomes a bounty hunter and tracks down vicious criminals. No word yet on the start of production.

Hello Collider crew ! Quick question here is there any actor who's movie you just flat out skip? I just can't bring myself to watch a movie if Melissa McCarthy is in it.  Thanks!

Adam Sandoval writes:

You guy's said that the movie star is dead, but why does Marvel pay Robert $50 million with back end points and Sony pays Jennifer $20 million up front for a single movie? Is there an exception to what you guys said about movie stars being dead?
