AMC has released a new Preacher trailer online. The show follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a West Texas preacher who receives the power to speak with the voice of God and becomes enmeshed in a whirlwind drama with his ex-girlfriend/assassin Tulip (Ruth Negga) and a vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). While this new trailer doesn’t showcase any new footage from the show, it is a good tone setter and it breezes through the pivotal characters we’ll be seeing in the first season.

AMC has also announced Talking Preacher, a live show that will air following the season premiere and the season finale episodes of Preacher. It’s a smart move by AMC to test the waters of another follow-up talk show rather than ordering a full season. Presumably if Preacher is a Walking Dead-sized hit, we can expect Talking Preacher to be a regular fixture for Preacher’s second season. Talking Preacher will debut Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, May 29 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT following an encore airing of Preacher’s pilot episode at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with series star Dominic Cooper and series executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin as guests for host Chris Hardwick. The second installment will air following the season finale on Sunday, July 31st at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Check out the new Preacher trailer below. The series debuts May 22nd at 10:00pm ET/PT with a 90-minute premiere episode. New episodes resume Sunday, June 5th at its regular time of 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
