After years of languishing in development hell, I’m still surprised that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies actually got made, let alone that it’s coming to theaters. Screen Gems has announced Burr Steers’ horror-comedy, based on the parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, will finally open on February 19, 2016.

The story follows Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) and her sisters Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Mary (Millie Brady), Jane (Bella Heathcote), and Kitty (Suki Waterhouse) as they try to navigate societal pressures of the landed gentry and fend off hoards of zombies. I’m surprised the studio didn’t move the film up a week and get in that Valentine’s Day crowd.  Of course, that would put it against the heavy competition of Deadpool and Zoolander 2. Currently, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is only sharing its weekend with the thriller Shut In.

The film also stars Lena Headey, Charles Dance, Matt Smith, Douglas Booth, Jack Huston and Sam Riley.
