IGN has a recurring feature called "Rewind Theater" where they pick apart trailers to notice little things and maybe get a better understanding of what folks may see in the finished film. Today they had their first commentary with the creator of the property as "Prince of Persia" creator Jordan Mechner sat down to talk about moments in the new "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" trailer. I hope that IGN will keep having creators come on and provide commentary, and that when there's a trailer for "Eat, Pray, Love", they'll go through it with author Elizabeth Gilbert.
Mechner explains aspects like the Dagger of Time and how they based the movie off of the game but knew they would have to build a larger story and give The Prince a name. Unfortunately, nowhere in either part is an explanation of why the half-swedish/half-Jewish Gyllenhaal is playing the Prince of Persia.
