While your news feed might be buried by all things The Avengers at the moment, lest we forget a little sci-fi flick that’s coming out in June called Prometheus. It’s been about 36 hours since we last updated you, so I think it’s time to remind you about the film with some new images. These come from a mini-game called “Prometheus Mission Connect” and reveal quite a detailed look at the interiors and exteriors of the exploratory ship. Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris and Logan Marshall-Green and opens in 3D on June 8th. Hit the jump to check out the images and for information on how you can win a trip to visit the site where director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus was filmed, Pinewood Studios in London.
Thanks to user jonesycatpants over at PrometheusForum.net for the heads up. Check out the images from the game below the official synopsis:
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Very boring set design. Compared to Alien, this sucks!
What are you talking about? My guess its the lighting in those pics. This isn’t a commercial ship like the one in Alien. Its a research vessel. Clean, sleek and no dirt.
Obviously you have to see them in moving images to proper judge. As you can tell from the trailer, the star of the set design isn’t the ship but the jockey and the rest of the ‘Alien’ areas.
About the rating: I think the industry is blind and sorely mistaken that a pg rating=more money. If directors like Scott are known for their more harder R rated movies (which he is) then its going to have to opposite effect. In really, who these days checks ids? come on.
Whether this film’s rated R or PG-13…It doesn’t MATTER!!
This film will surely become the highest grossing film made by Ridley Scott….
It’s INEVITABLE!! :d
While I’m not one of those people who tout ‘R’ rated films as always superior, you can’t deny that Ridley’s best films are rated ‘R’. For instance, of his sword-and-sandal films, Robin Hood was the weakest by far, and I actually liked that film. If you look at his Sci-fi films, both are rated ‘R’. I really hope Prometheus gets an ‘R’ rating, I think that Ridley really needs that flexibility to drive it home.
Good article and I am speechless. Just look at the details on that ship. So perfect.
Prometheus the myth is a warning about overreaching but look at all the pretty science in that ship. Thematic dissonance?
Looking great!
dissapointed in the pg13 though. Not just because of its rating, but the fact that AGAIN the studios meddling with Scotts cut. Have they not learnt from Blade runner, or more noticeably KINGDOM OF HEAVEN??? The DC is a masterpiece, yet the theatrical version is unwatchable.
If promethius is diluted for the big screen, then expect me and many others to wait for the DC on the small screen.
Charlize Theron’s ass in that suit looks hopeful:

The ship looks suspiciously similar to Serenity (from Firefly).
