New International Trailers for PROMETHEUS

     March 18, 2012

As of this posting, this weekend on Collider has featured two trailers for Prometheus on this site, not to mention a live chat with Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, a viral campaign report, and panel coverage and an interview from WonderCon.  I’ll add three international trailers to the pile with plenty of new footage.  I believe these three new trailers are identical except for the language, but the UK, Italian, and Spanish versions are all after the jump if you want to vet for yourself.

Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, and Michael Fassbender star in the Alien prequel.  Prometheus opens on June 8.

Let me add to the chorus that all these new trailers look very, very cool.

Official synopsis:

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Call me crazy but this trailer looks better plus, there are more scenes?

Also, they really dumb it down for the american one huh?

    • Vickthur

They had more action in the US version. I wouldn’t say it was dumbed down.

      • Loves2splooge

The uk one has was more footage, especialy in the start when they are explaining their invitation..

Secondly it just seems that the american one is more intesnse in sound and cuts, to make appeal to wider audiences, because in essence this film will be a bit of a slow burn too, either way fucking siked! Cant wait to see!

      • Loves2splooge

Def had more scenes in the beging, especially when they are explaining their invitation, as well as the mood is more exploritory and investigative. The american trailer seems to be louder and have faster cuts, to appeal to a wider demo. Eithe way fucking siked to see this 5 times over in imax!

I think the whole tone of the UK trailer (slow, thoughtful first half, then cuts to a more dread-filled second half) kind of suits that audience/market.

The US one has more pace to it, especially when the military drums kick in. Again, this version is tailor made for this audience.

  • Mark

You need to watch the trailers, the UK one has a TONNE of new stuff.

Meant the new trailers are identical to each other, not any previous trailer. Edited for clarity.

  • lovetron

Totally different feel than the US version. Lookin’ good.

Love the new music for the trailers.

First off, it’s stupid to believe that all of these ancient civilizations that have so much in common never communicated with each other. Second, this trailer is such a chaotic mess that it’s not even clear that it’s an advertisement for a movie until the very end. Finally, I don’t care, I just want to see it and finally (I hope…) figure out what the hell the whole thing is about.

“I just want to see it…”

Then the trailer did its job.

      What a dumb comment

They already have it dubbed for other countries. Would love to see a Chinese/Japanese one.

Yeah, that’s just plain cinematic gold. The cinematography is amazing, the production design fantastic… and the cast seems spot on. Something interesting… if that’s LV426, and it must be because the ‘derelict’ spacecraft obviously crashes… what the hell happened to the atmosphere by Alien?

    • Tarek

You have to tell us what happened Michael. You were on the set.
