The marketing machine for director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is really cranking up: just yesterday we brought you this fantastic ad and poster for David 8, the human-looking android (played by Michael Fassbender) who is a product of the Weyland Corporation (headed by Guy Pearce). But it seems that David 8 is not the only machine roving around the universe in Prometheus and these new viral posters serve to introduce you to some of the others. No, there are no more androids, but fans of these schematics of the explorer ship Prometheus should enjoy these new images equally as much. Prometheus also stars Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron, and opens in 3D on June 8th. Hit the jump to check out the new posters as well as a recap of our previous coverage.

Here’s the official synopsis for Prometheus, followed by the new posters (via IMPAwards):
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

I coulda’ swore there was a labeled version of the David ad as well. I can’t recall where I saw it–but it looks just like these with little tags explaining his “features”.
The concepts for this film are some of the best I’ve seen since District 9.
This is the real Sci-Fi. who is the art director ? I need to know his name. Is he the son of Syd Mead ?
The “intergalactic antennae” on the ship is just childish is it not? Are they traveling between galaxies in this universe already?
Because LV426 is the third planet on the right for you ? ^^
Eh?
The Art director is Paul Inglis. He was also the Art director for Game of Thrones.
Here is what he says about the talent of Sir Ridley:
“Ridley at every meeting will call for a sheet of paper and a thickish 5-point pen and he’ll start doodling. Sometimes it’s framed, sometimes it acts like a storyboard panel, sometimes it’s more of a sketch of an item or a piece of an environment. He’ll do literally hundreds and hundreds of those throughout the course of pre-production. Very often off-the-cuff, and they’re beautiful. You absolutely get the sense of what he’s after, and how he draws them is brilliant.” Inglis is not the only one amazed by the artistic talent displayed by the former graduate of the Royal College of Art in London; Ashton Gordon who was the Production Designer for Legend (1985) once told him “that Ridley Scott is one of the only people he knows who can draw upside down.”
