‘Punisher’ Adds Possible Allies, Antagonists Ahead of Its 2017 Netflix Release
Punisher, one of an unprecedented three Marvel series debuting on Netflix in 2017, has beefed up its cast as the cameras continue to roll. Some will be allies for the vigilante while others will almost certainly be antagonists. Just how it all shakes out remains to be seen, but the comic book readers among you might very well recognize a few of these names. We’ll keep it spoiler-free just the same.
Reported by Marvel themselves, the new additions include Daniel Webber, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R. Moore, Michael Nathanson, and Paul Schulze who will join Jon Bernthal in the title role, Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role as Karen Page, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, and Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani.
Here’s what Executive Producer and showrunner Steve Lightfoot, who will also write the series’ first two episodes, had to say about the new cast members:
“We couldn’t have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher. It’s a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances.”
Executive Producer Jeph Loeb echoed his statement:
“Marvel TV is very proud of the cast of The Punisher. Each actor brings a special promise who surround Jon Bernthal’s exceptional performance.”
