A couple of weeks ago, we brought you the one-line synopsis for Dreamworks' Shrek-spinoff, Puss in Boots which came courtesy of the Licensing International Expo. Today, DreamWorks debuted the official website for the film, and along with it, the first promo image (shown right) of Puss (Antonio Banderas) in all his swashbuckling goodness alongside new character "Kitty" (voiced by Salma Hayek).

The film, scheduled for a 3D (naturally) release on November 4, 2011, not only brings together Banderas and Hayek, but also Hollywood's new favorite beard/actor Zach Galifianakis who is set to play Humpty Dumpty. For those just tuning in, here's the one-line synopsis for Puss in Boots:

“Puss in Boots – One of the most beloved characters of the Shrek Universe – tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss' (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.”

While the synopsis sounds interesting enough, the idea of Galifianakis playing Humpty Dumpty is what really sells me. It seems to be a match made in casting heaven and I already look forward to the day when he signs on to star in the yet to be conceived (why isn't anyone writing this?) Humpty Dumpty live-action film.  In the meantime, though, check back for more info on Puss' first solo adventure as his 2011 release date approaches.
