The Berlin International Film Festival already has quite the lineup, but the list continues to grow. Another batch of official selections was just announced and while there are loads of promising projects in the mix, the standout is Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert. The Gertrude Bell biopic was in development for years before finally going into production in late 2013. Nicole Kidman leads as Bell, an “explorer, writer, archaeologist and attaché for the British Empire who is credited with helping to catalyze the formation of the Middle East at the dawn of the 20th century.”
Hit the jump to check out the full list of new selections for the Competition Program. The 65th Berlin International Film Festival begins on February 5th with a screening of Nobody Wants the Night starring Juliette Binoche and Rinko Kikuchi, and wraps up on the 15th.
