While Rami Malek celebrated the Outstanding Miniseries win for The Pacific on Emmy night, the actor revealed that he has joined the cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Malek will play Benjamin, a member of the “Egyptian Coven” who has the ability to control the elements: water, earth, fire, and air. (“Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony…”)
This won’t be the first time Malek has been tapped for his Egyptian heritage: he played the pharoah Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Malek will next be seen in Tom Hanks’ Larry Crowne. Breaking Dawn: Part 1 opens on November 18, 2011, while Part 2 drops a year later on November 16, 2012. Hit the jump for video of Malek’s comments.
