Dwayne Johnson has to save the world from giant monsters in Rampage, the latest blockbuster film to team Johnson with his San Andreas and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton. Inspired by the classic arcade game, Rampage stars Johnson Davis Okoye, a loner primatologist whose best friend is a super-smart silverback gorilla, George, until a rogue genetic experiment by a careless corporation unleashes a genetic nightmare that transforms George -- along with a wolf and a crocodile -- into an unstoppable giant monster.

On his path to saving the day (along with his big furry buddy), Davis makes a number of friends and enemies, including Dr. Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris), a genetic scientist trying to atone for his past mistakes, Agent Harvey Russell (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a swaggering deep south agent who toes the line between friend and foe, and Claire Wyden (Malin Akerman), the villainous suit behind the genetic experiments.

With Rampage set to smash up the box office when it arrives in theaters this weekend, I recently sat down with Harris, Morgan, and Akerman to chat about the film. We talked about if there's anything fun about working on green screen, their favorite monster movies, and what makes B-movies so fun. We also talked about what it's like for Morgan and Akerman to see HBO making a new Watchmen series.

Here’s the official synopsis for Rampage:

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
