The TV ratings for Thursday night’s programming are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

• CBS’ Sherlock Holmes procedural Elementary was up 9% from last week, earning a 2.4 rating and 10.5 million viewers versus last week’s 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demo.
• The CW’s The Vampire Diaries was up double digits, garnering a 1.5 rating and 3.17 million viewers.  That’s a rise of 15% from last week’s 1.3 rating.
• Comedy favorite The Big Bang Theory looks to have earned a season high 5.1 rating and 15.65 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s 2.0 rating.
• Thursday’s broadcast of the Country Music Awards hit all-time low numbers with a 3.8 rating and 13.6 million viewers.

CBS 

• The Big Bang Theory kicked off the night with a 5.1 rating and 15.65 million viewers, scoring a season high and up 2% from last week’s 5.0 rating.  The show was the highest rated and most-watched program of the night.
• CBS’ other Thursday “comedy” Two and a Half Men earned a 3.6 rating and 13.11 million viewers, down 3% from last week’s 3.7 rating in the demo.
• Person of Interest hit a 3.0 rating and 13.5 million viewers for a rise of 3% over last week’s 2.9 rating.
• New series Elementary continues to perform strong as last night’s episode earned a 2.4 rating and 10.5 million viewers.

ABC

The CW 

• Over at The CW, their flagship series The Vampire Diaries was up 15% from last week’s 1.3 rating with a 1.5 and 3.17 million viewers.
• New series Beauty and the Beast was a far cry from TVD numbers with a 0.6 rating and 1.73 million viewers.  That’s even with last week’s performance.
